Anyone have experience with choices between these two versions? Product literature lists a key upgrade feature as a TriggerTech Frictionless trigger in the Pro, and reviews on this gun really seem to like the trigger upgrade. I am a trigger man to be sure, so this is a very important plus in the Pro gun.

I originally planned to buy the base model, but only a difference of $321 stands between the two models on the shelf price. The pro has several additional features to boot, so for the difference in price, I'm now leaning toward the pro.

Hoping for input based on buyers who had similar thoughts as mine.

I have an HMR with 22" barrel. Out of the box the trigger needed adjusting. Couldn't get the Allen wrench to bite so I wound up calling rifle basix and installing one of their triggers for about $150. I'm very happy with the new trigger. I also added a 'lil bastid' break for another buck fifty.

The over all quality of the Bergara HMR line is excellent based on my one example. Accuracy is good to outstanding. Feature for feature you get a lot for your money and more than you bargained for. 20190218_111551.jpg 20190218_110556.jpg 20190302_161321.jpg 20190218_111543.jpg

These shots (2) were taken at 300 yards from a cold bore on paper.
The gong is also at 300 yards for 3 rounds after sighting in at 100 yards

I sighted my B-14 HMR in 6.5 CM in with 8 shots, 4 at 50 yards after bore sighting, 4 at 100 yards. Last two were a bughole in X-ring at 100 yards. Good rifle, good glass, good rear bag, Harris bipod. It's partially the arrows, Tonto.

Took my B-14 HMR to the range this afternoon to check some other factory loads (still accumulating brass for hand loading). Produced 4 0.75" 5-shot groups at 100-yards with Sig Sauer 140gr Match ammo. I'll recommend this rifle without hesitation.

Thank you both much for the nod of approval. I became interested in this Bergara rifle based on the recommendation from a hunting buddy. He has a keen eye for a good rifle, so when he suggested Bergara, I listened and started reading. I don't think I have read a bad review in the dozens of reviews I've checked out on the HMR.

I have a Zeiss 50mm scope ready to shift over to the HMR Premier Pro I ordered from Bud's Gun shop yesterday. Wish me luck that I'll get a tack driver. Developing loads for a new rifle is a huge thrill for me. Yeah!

I have yet to buy one but they are tops on the list - Bergara Pro that is. Like you said, there are many good features. You certainly can't go wrong. If you are spending a lot of money, in my opinion, why not spend the little more to get the nice extras.
As you also said that you have not seen any bad reviews. The only bad thing I saw is that the bolt is cone shaped and a new barrel would need some machining, as of now. I am sure the aftermarket prefits will catch up on this soon.
Good luck and congrats!

I'll post some follow up thoughts after the rifle comes in and I have a chance to do some range testing. I'll likely leave the gun standard as it comes, and with the reported accuracy the HMR is capable of shooting, I doubt I'll be searching for a new barrel. I see your point for sure, and if a new barrel was on the horizon, some machining may be in order. Good information.

I have a Cooper rifle with exceptional accuracy (once I worked up a good load), so I'm anxious to see if the HMR can keep pace.
