Has anyone put Altamont checkered or stippled grips on their K6, and if so how did they work for you compared to the smooth factory wood grips?

I have them on mine. I love 'em. for whatever reason, the gun seems to handle recoil better with the wood grips rather than the rubber ones. They fit perfectly and provide a nice grip for both target and defensive style practice. Great company.

I have no experience with the Kimber really, but I've used plenty of Altamont grips to know they're a good product.

They certainly look like a good match on their website.

I believe that the Kimber factory wooden grips are the smooth Altamonts.

When shooting the Kimber with the stock wooden grips, the gun moves around too much for me under recoil so I have to decide between Hogue G10 or checkered Altamont.....

I put the Hogue G10 on my 3" K6S. They give me better "traction" than the factory smooth wood. I tried the Crimson Trace laser grips, but the activation button doesn't appear positioned to allow me to work it 100% like I can with the grips on S&W J & K frames. One of these days I need to unload them, possibly someone else will get better results with the way they grip the Kimber.
