I'm usually lurking on the blackpowder forum but I thought this forum would be the proper place to share my new gift. I just received a Talo BT Special Edition Ruger Vaquero 1 of 500 from my three sons. I think they just covered all special occasions from now to next Christmas.

It is very much like the one on the Talo website. The pictures don't do it justice.

The case coloring, and gold trigger/hammer combo is pretty slick looking if we're looking at the same one.

You are looking at the same one. The case colors and bluing are by Bobby Tyler of Tyler Gun Works in Friona, Texas. While the gun is apart the action is also slicked up a little.

Not a fan of the gold hammer and trigger, but very nice otherwise. Obviously those two parts would swap out easily if you're not a fan either.

Very nice, great gift. I really like Vaqueros, had one with a color case hardened frame. Gave it to my brother in law. Felt lost without one so I recently got a blue model, 4 3/4" bbl, 45 Colt cal. Great revolvers. I like to just handle them.

I was mistaken about the action work on my revolver. I talked to Bobby Tyler today and he told me that Ruger had subcontracted his shop to do the finish work only and Ruger did all the assembly in house so his shop did no action work on these Vaqueros.
