Since I'll likely never carry this again outside of a Bar-B-Que scenario, I want to finally get rid of these Pachmayrs.

I'd like to see available alternatives that you folk may have.

I generally do not like the Fleur-de-Lis pattern on Altamonts but am rather drawn to their bonded ivory in any case. Sadly, I am unable to enlarge their photos so if anyone has a pair of these, I'd like to see them too.

Mostly, I'm thinking a *stag* style but am open to most anything as most anything looks better than Pachys.

I dont care for the altamont hi power shape and size. while they fit the gun, they look odd to me and are quite thick which I find a hindrance. even the thin ones ain't thin.

it's not so obvious from the side but from the rear they look odd to me. I own a couple sets bought before I knew. they got changed quickly to other brands.

That's good to know. One thing I don't want is thicker unless it is to accompany the appearance of stag - then - I don't think I'd mind much.

Why don't you try the original Browning walnut grips? They are well made, with satin lacquer finish, although missing the fancy grain found on custom grips. And they are thick, much like the Altamonds which are shaped after them.

I looked specifically at the midwestgun french walnuts and those will likely be what I default to if nothing else comes along first.

I just enjoy them as they are. Methinks, this one is a machined in Belgium and assembled in Portugal. That is IF I posted the correct picture. :D

Once someone asked what is the difference between a Hi-Power and a High Power? The short form is the cost..

I like Esmeralda grips

I thought of Esmeralda's grips too but when I checked her website I didn't see where she had anything listed for the Hi-Power.

I just popped in to say that the words “Pimp Bar-B-Que” together caused me to choke on my coffee laughing.

I did find this site doing a search for “mother of pearl hi power grips”.

Definitely some Pimp Bar-B-Que grips here: :D

They do appear to be thicker grip panels though.
Thanks - those elk look just about right.
