Freedom of information and promote the free spread of ideas. But no gun blueprints!

Such hyperbole in this country about it being free. Solid propaganda. I hope Trump admin FLOODs anti gun states with those blueprints first.

Don't they realize that these guns are disposable. Good for only one shot. And that's it. The first shot destroys the gun.

I get what they want. Or more correctly, what they are NOT saying is more important then what is said...

They are scared of the people, and doubly triply so when they don't have any control over the people. And that is regardless of whether or not that scared is warranted...

If you'll excuse me I just got a call from my financial advisor, have to go purchase futures in ''raw nylon & similar plastics'' based on the rush to purchase // ppl wanting to make their own plastk 1-shot gun NOT.

Basically Ellison is an attention hound (there are better words to fit in there, but Art's Grammaw wouldn't like them), and of course either doesn't know the difference, or worse, does, and deliberately adopts such virtue signaling. Meanwhile it wouldn't shock me if he and Ilhan Omar have sent the plans overseas. I hope they have. There'd be a lot of guys in the sandbox with the nick name of
اليساري

"lefty"

This isn't about a disposable zip gun. I'm sure these fools are aware of zip guns and how easy they are to manufacture from supplies readily available at any hardware store.

This is to set a precedent to monitor and regulate what private citizens can engineer, share, and manufacture in their homes with new technology. It's not just guns they're after, it's more sinister than that.

There's also this undercurrent of undermining the constitutional powers of the chief executive when it's not one of their lackeys in power, while providing powers that one of their own would abuse.

True, but anybody with a milling machine can make up any number of arms from real steel. There's never been a push to regulate them, not that that would be an easy task.

Kind of like the senator who thought she was qualified to speak on the issue of "hi caps" when referring to their inoperability after firing through a 30 round mag, as though they were single use throw away mags.... the ignorance is unparalleled

I played with metal- free weapons and ammo decades ago after talking to one of my teachers, a retired Air Marshall. They are quite feasible if you stay within what the materials can handle.
-And, no, printable materials are not the best answer - you need to add structural fiber to deal with the stresses of ignition and acceleration.
There's no way to do this in 3D printing - at this time... .

This is just people who don't understand technology thinking they can stop the signal. You can't stop the signal.

This year I have seen files for the following get distributed
3d printed AR lower
3d printed Glock lowers
3d printed Glock magazines.
3d printed AK receivers
3d printed Hi-Power lower
3d printed Tech-9 lowers
3d printed V61 lower
3d printed Hi-Point lower

Traditional gun control is becoming more pointless by the day. All anyone needs to get a gun is a $200 3d printer and some parts ordered off the internet.
