Out of nowhere, Cunningham comes up with a "short notice auction" of suspiciously new pistols. Must be a dealer pal of the principals - I should guess. Each also curiously has an "asking price" which I don't recall seeing before. Not a *reserve* but an asking price.

It'll be interesting to watch these as panic-price indicators.

Here in AZ, if you have a concealed carry license it is sign and carry so NICS hold-ups don't matter to card holders.

I'd have liked to get a notice from them to toss a couple guns in there..... and some ammo.

Note the terms, add $18.60 per $100 bid plus at least another $25
10% buyers premium
8.6% sales tax
$25 background check fee
Storage fees if you don't pickup items in 2 days
Brutal.

I've bought a lot from Cunninghams and never have I contended with that other than the storage and even then, I got 4 days.

There is an auction house near me that charges an 18% premium plus other fees. I hear they reduce that for local customers. 3 or 4 firearms auctions a year with many very nice guns and they don't sell cheap.

So actually it's a 28.6% buyers premimum. + $50, + sales tax.

They're not asking much...or trolling for suckers.
And then a storage fee if you don't get down there or, heaven forbid, your NICS is put on a *hold*.

These people have always been stand-up in my dealings in the past but this puts them into a new and unflattering light.

Of course, I have only ever bought equipment of materials from them in the past.

So if the SA sold at MSRP (relax, I ALREADY know MSRP is notional at best) of $1,042 it would cost 1262.85 to get it out the door assuming no storage fees or shipping.

I guess it's not too out of line for an auction.

I was really posting this more as a watchable activity for its *short notice* listing and the current issues taking place.

Premium, tax (if it applies) and transfer fees (if they apply) I guess are the norm and to still be holding at 10% is average-low these days.

Should tha SA sell - for example - at MSRP $1,042, it would cost right around $1,262.89 to take it home without shipping or storage fees.

Although, having been a manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer, I do chafe a bit at the notion of a background check fee. I always saw that as MY cost of doing business and not the customer's. Note though that I DID charge for transfers in the odd case of it not being my own product.

There was a local auction here recently. Gun Price plus 15% Buyer premium, 8% Sales tax and transfer fee was $35 and 4% of the total amount if using a credit card. I was trying to buy a Browning HiPower but as always, it went way above what it was worth. Sold for $985 and after all the fees, the buyer either paid $1260 or around $1300 if he used a card. the gun was worth around $800-850. You would have to buy it for $650 before all the fees to come out. That's why I stay away from local auctions. Too many people bid with egos and not a brain.
