This is a Colt New Service, made in 1906. I got it for cheap because it had been reblued and over-buffed. As-issued, it had a 7 1/2" barrel with a front sight about as thick as a razorblade and a rear sight to match. It shot accurately -- but about a foot high and 18 inches to the left. After many adventures, I said, "To hell with it!" I trimmed the barrel back to 5 1/2", put on adjustable sights and put on Herrett Shooting Master grips.
