What's the oddest thing you've heard someone say in regards to firearms, ammunition, etc.?

My stepbrother told me once when we were preteens/early teens that shooting a .44 Mag with your holding arm straight out will break it.

This is also the same idiot around the same time frame who picked up his dad's large Star "Wonder Nine" pistol and pointed at it me with his finger on trigger. He kept asking me if how do I know if it is not loaded, is it loaded...

Now to this day, I wished the damn Hell that I had informed his dad about what he did. For odd ball reason I didn't.

I have an infamous co worker said calling a famous gun maker Smith & Wilson repeatedly during a debate at work.

one just came to mind... some paraphrasing of "for a given pressure, smokeless will make higher pressure than black powder"... origin? Every forum out there, even here, in reference to using smokeless in a BP gun (not that I do, or suggest it).

Huh, I had never heard that one. The coworker I posted about a while back, the one who used to ask me, "Which is more powerful, a 44 or a 45?" used to call them Smith and Weston, but I'd never heard "Smith and Wilson" before.o_O

What gun is your carry gun?

"It is a Ruger something. Hold on a minute and let me look. I know it is here in my pocket book somewhere."

Another True Story.

How is that LCP I sold you doing?
Good,
Have you shot it yet.?
No, not yet. (this is 4 years later)

My gun makes a loud noise and kicks hard.
Elderly fellow with a mauser his grandkids bought him.
Those 8x75 Mauser rounds were having a tough time shooting out of the 30/06 chamber and bore.

"These M&P's are so accurate because they use the Dan Wesson 1911 barrels"[/QUOTE
.
Same gun counter I waited 4 hours at, on a slow day. They already had my background check after the first hour, so I was kinda stuck until there were done with me, and I wasn't driving back from Birtch Bay for pickup

Wasn't there a movie during the 80's that called the Glock 17, a 7 and claimed that it was made of poceacen(China?), and could pass through metal detectors? It was the first movie in series of at least three.

Lethal Weapon.

And another gem from the franchise.

... And cop killer Teflon coated bullets that pass right through Kevlar...

That also shot through a bulldozer’s blade...

It was an action/comedy.:)

I thing I did read recently from some oddball site owned by some dumbass who clearly knows nothing about firarms or what Militarizes currently use or issue to troops. Such the Desert Eagle was designed by IMI for Israel to issue their troops. Or snipers shoot at 3000 to 4500 meters and are able to shoot their targets in the head at that range...
