I was surprised to find its Tulammo. When I bought an AR 10, I added a few boxes because they were $6.00. They worked, and hit what they were supposed to. Then I bought 500 from TargetsportsUSA for around $7.00/box, and Walmart discontinued their scary ammo, and I bought a bunch at $5.00/box, which was a loss for them. All worked good, 50 yards grouped 1" or so, not too dirty. Boxer primed, but steel case. 150gr, chronoed 2500 FPS from an 18" barrel. Smells like Russian ammo though.
The nice thing about the steel case, its 2c/round more than the cheapest reloads i can make. I can load 125 TNT,s with H335, on range pickups for 31c, buying in bulk, but for 33c that steel case works fine, with no effort vs 2 minutes per round to load. That said, i loaded some with win 748, and shot 1/2' 5 shot hole at 50 yards, vs the 1-1/2-2" with the Tul. But its just a fun gun anyway.I'm getting similar results with Brown Bear JSP, solid 2 MOA ammo, biggest issue is vertical stringing, but it works and I have lots of fun with it shooting 4 MOA steel plates at 300 yards. IF the wind is not too bad I can usually hit 2/3 on the 2 MOA plate. If I recall I paid under $0.30 per round for the case of it when the good surplus mentioned above dried up around here.
I sure do miss the 1280 round "lockers" for ~$220.
The best recent surplus I've used was headstamp FNM, Malaysian it was claimed if I recall, came in cardboard boxes packed in GI-style metal ammo cans, I think it was about $0.40 per round.
Stay away from ZQI. horrible stuff.
Brass is thin and not even worth reloading.
Kind of a mute point though. You can't find this ammo anywhere anymore. Don't think Turkey is that happy with us at the moment.
