Today was a lot of fun. I recently bought a “lot” off of Gunbroker of scraps where somebody sold their reloading gear. I bought 8 open boxes of bullets, 7 of which I can use. One box just happened to be .224 50gr ballistic tips, but there were only about 30 of them. I wanted to spend some time on the bench as it’s been nearly 2 years since I loaded anything so I got out yesterday and cleaned some brass, popped primers, and today rounded up the scraps from my .223 loading escapades where I have a dozen or two of each random bullet left over. But of course, when you want left alone a child will seek you out and crash your personal time party, but sometimes that’s OK. Daughter #1 came out first and was asking questions. I showed and explained, and she basically just took over. Then daughter #2 came out and could not be outdone nor could anything be done by her sister that she herself didn’t get involved in. And so, my girls today finagled their way into reloading their first rounds. They had a ball and learned a lot. They were Not at all happy when I said we had to stop after the box of ballistic tips was empty, but I hadn’t found a load of h335 for anything else yet, and they were starting to argue. Here are the little ladies at the bench. 13A77D15-AAC5-4092-8893-7F7F669BE39F.jpeg 473C47DD-1737-4458-92C5-39E90A45EC0B.jpeg A1AE6469-DE31-4357-AE7A-FE8B5D981F38.jpeg

Nice!
My daughter's are 3&1, hope they'll be helping soon!
On a side note I did take my 3 year old fishing for the first time today. We had to cut it short because my wife got called into work but fun anyway. Nope, she didn't catch anything but had nibbles on the grub she had on the hook.

She’s making a serious statement with those boots!!!

Mine is currently interested in quality control and runs the calipers on every case out of my press.
That's where both my boys started. Then they moved on to setting up the powder measure. Through all this they began to appreciate the mathematics of physical dimensions, weights, tolerances, averaging, and so on. Helping out with reloading gave real meaning to the underlying mathematics. After that, math in school wasn't this dry boring subject, that it is to most kids. It had a very practical applications, which they could use when they got home.

20 years on, they now both have high-paying technical jobs.

Well done, everybody! These posts are why I wish THR had a "Winner" rating in addition to the "like" rating!

Teach them everything you can and enjoy every minute you have with them. They grow up all too soon. Voice of experience here as I'm now doing the same with great grand daughters now. The two oldest, 12 and almost 9 were here last week and helped me size a bunch of .38 SWC bullets I had cast earlier. I don't let them help with casting.

Those are lee cast 230 cone flat point with Eastwood ford light blue powder coat.
Nice. Just can’t decide if l want to try that. Been casting for a number of years. No sure the benefits outweighs the extra work.

Yeah you got a bit before that one is ready. Congratulations

The now 17 almost 18 year old was five hanging around the loading room and the work shop. She’d putter around then announce” break time” and trot back up stairs to grandma.
