Break in/sight in at the range today with my new Falkor Omega. After multiple shoot and clean cycles to break the barrel in, the fit is still so tight that I need a brass mallet and nylon punch to knock the takedown pins out. Pins have to be tapped back in with mallet. You literally have to break it over your knee to get the upper and lower apart. It's tight.

I bon't have anything else in 6.5 Creedmoor. No reloading components so, I broke it in with a couple of boxes of factory Hornady ELD Match 140's. All 40 shots averaged 2660 fps. The SD was pretty high in my opinion (21 fps) but, it grouped fairly well.

After several break downs during the cleaning process, it is obvious the gun is very well made. My only complaint so far is that the finish seems to be a little weak. Already a couple of small dings just from handling. In comparison, I have been dragging my LaRue OBR around for over a decade and it still looks like new.

The below groups were shot off of a Harris bipod and rear squeeze bag. Scope is a Nightforce 4x16 F1 ATACR. So, not exactly a bench rest setup but, more like would be used in the field. The 3 shot group was a little bit of a fluke but the 5 shot was indicative.

“Starting at $4,010” — Ouch!

But it looks like it has all of the bells and whistles, and it shoots well enough. Glad you’re happy with it!
Yeah all guns are going higher. But it already has a Geiselle trigger and an adjustable stock. That is $500 I would have spent anyway. That barrel is $850 if you buy it alone.

And, $4010 is just the MSRP distractor price. You can get them for less. Or, at least you used to could. Dracos makes a claim that "if you ever wear out the barrel, they will replace it for free". We will see.

If that is true, and they can deliver 1/2moa with some load work, I’d start shooting them and never shoot anything else.

Otherwise - what standard do they consider for “worn out?”

I think the accuracy guarantee is under 1 MOA. Mine certainly did that with factory match ammo. I guess "worn out" would be when the barrel could no longer do that. But I can't speak for them. I can't see how a barrel would never wear out.

A lot of manufacturers that I have seen and read claim barrel life on AR platforms of 10,000 rounds. LaRue, etc. Most people will never approach that round count. Maybe Dracos is banking on the few that do.

Welcome to the club. The upper to lower fit on my Omega is just as tight as the day I bought it. 3 shot groups hover between .3 and .5 MOA with every single factory round I have tried, though it seems to show a preference for new Hornady Precision Hunter 143s which is what I planned to run through it from the start. I bought mine used with a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27X in a BOBRO mount, five mags and a TBAC suppressor mount for $5000. Cerakote job was thrown in on top of that. I like it so much I just bought a Dracos 6.5 Grendel barrel that I intend to break in next weekend. Their Grendel barrels are 50% off at the moment which puts them in a decent price range considering their warranty. I can tell you that after a 20 round mag, the outside of the barrel is not nearly as hot as any of my other barrels. Falkor puts out some top-notch precision auto loaders. 2D971B60-F249-41D0-A113-20C23141C77D.jpeg

Thanks! And that is a very nice weapon. I saw it previously when scouring the web for Falkor information.

Do you get groups that good with it suppressed? I have an Advanced Armament MK-13 SD that I will try on it at some point when I get a brake adaptor in. I also have a Q Thunder Chicken that would work. But it is on my MK18 at the moment.

I see no difference in groups rather suppressed or unsuppressed. I told myself that I would be happy if I could find one load that would shoot close to 1/2 MOA. To date this gun has produced 1/2 MOA 5 shot groups with Hornady Precision Hunter 143, Hornady Match 147 and Federal GMM Berger 130. It just flat out shoots. The only drawback I’ve found is the weight and that’s just the nature of the beast with large framed ARs.
