Have never had any issues with accuracy with Ruger DA handguns...I've owned:
GP100 .357 stainless 4"
GP100 10mm MC 4.2"
GP100 .327 Federal 4.2"
Redhawk .41 Magnum 5.5"
Redhawk .41 Magnum 2.75"
Redhawk .41 Magnum 4.2"
Several SP-101s and LCRs

The above DA 50 yard group with the 4.2" Redhawk is the tightest standing DA group I have ever fired at 50 yards with any handgun...

I think a lot of it has to do with the SA trigger pull difference between the Smith and the Ruger...shootability has a lot to do with group size...

Here are a couple of pictures of my Redhawk. It was my first handgun that I bought, or rather my dad bought for me, when I was about 17 or so. I fished lobster all summer off the coast of Malibu, saved up my earnings, begged my dad, and still had to get a B in math. That was about 1984 or so. The first picture is me in Montana about 1989. We were bear hunting and took some time off for shooting. Yes I am in my socks, it was pouring down rain in the pre-Gortex days so we had to dry out our gear. The second photo is my son shooting the Redhawk a few years ago. We are going up to Montana and Wyoming in three days and the Redhawk will go with us. What a great gun with tons of rounds down the tube and still as tight as the day I bought it.

OK, I'll play.

1984 vintage RH in 357. Factory grips were much too small for me, so they had to go. Added a FO front sight and lighter spring which delivers a crisp 4.0 pound trigger break with 100% positive ignition.

Just yesterday, I was shooting shooting 10" steel plates at 100 yards off bench. Sounded like a gong getting banged down there. Was shooting 158 grain plated being pushed by 14.5 grains of IMR 4227.

Now that’s pretty!!!

Here's one more from a few years later....we were back for spring bear in the same area. We took a break for lunch and decided to do some shooting for fun. I had been reading quite a bit from Ross Seyfried and put together some 300 grn hard cast bullets for my .44. My partner was using 240 Federal Profile Points and was mocking my "Target Loads". At the time, lead bullets were almost exclusively used for target shooting in my area. I bet him that my "Target Loads" would out penetrate his Profile Points. We shot at a stump and then checked the penetration. The looser had to kiss the stump.

I am the guy with blonde hair and he is the guy in the baseball hat. I leave it up to you to figure out who won. We were both shooting 7 1/2 Redhawks as well.
