I've been looking at getting a high end 1911 for a while now, and I see that Guncrafter Industries has a 15% "4th Sale" going on right now. What do y'all think? Should I put my money down on one, maybe put it on lay away? I'd like to get me a good pistol that will be able to outlive me, and be able to pass it on to my kids, opinions??

Balance out how much you want to spend, the highest quality for the money, and durability of what you like about it, then make the decision. Personally I don’t even look at the customs because I won’t pay for one, but for those folks who do, Guncrafters seems to be a really nice gun visually, and from what I have read they are almost as good on fit as they are on finish. Will you ever see a 1moa or 2 mos difference in a pistols accuracy? Does it make sense to pay for it if you can’t realize that potential? Could you find a nicer gun slightly used for the same money? If your dropping 3k or so on a pistol... does it have every option you want and then some?

I only have one Guncrafter it is a No Name Govt in 9mm. All I can say is that it is super smooth. One of the softest shooters in the safe. It's build quality is really close to a full custom piece. The only fault I can find with it is the magwell is a functional fit not a blended fit. It was ordered that way and it shows. It does not effect the function and it really doesn't matter unless you are looking down the magwell. LOL If you can afford it and they have something in stock that you like go for it. These days if I am buying something over $2500 I am going full custom and picking every part and detail not going off the shelf but there is nothing wrong doing that as long as you are not compromising. IMHO

If the gun is worth more to you than the money, I would say buy it. If the money is worth more to you than the gun, I would say look elsewhere.
