Local sale has NIB Colt Govt...looking at the photo, it appears to be a XSE. He's asking $875 for it. I have a on again off again relationship with 1911's. The off again is usually due to reliability issues.

What I'm wanting to know if this is a good buy. If i don't like it, is it cheap enough to get my money out of it in trade?

I got about $1000ish and a 1911 bug right now. I would prefer a stainless ommander .Maybe something with STI stamped on it. But no one around here stocks 1911's other than cheaper models. I know its not high end but i was hoping for something a lil nicer and something that feeds hollow points.

I would say that's a very decent price on a NIB Colt Government XSE. The last few Colts that I have bought have been well built and very nicely finished. They have also been extremely reliable. Another nice feature with the full size Government model is that you can get a .22LR conversion kit so you can practice with it for a lot less money, provided of course that inexpensive rimfire ammo because available again sometime in the near future.

STI Ranger II ended up following me home instead. Wow...never had anything other than Springfield or a Colt 1991....This seems much nicer. I'm gonna shoot it before i decide i don't like the plastic trigger.
