I know I have somewhat of an orphan caliber; does anyone have any suggestions where to go for bullets beyond Hornady and Barnes? Hornady offers their XTP in a 210 grain, and Barnes has a hollowpoint in 180 grain. I'd like to find a JHP in 180-185 grain to use for a reduced powder/recoil load. The Barnes bullets are expensive. I've been using the 210 grain Hornady, which I can tolerate fairly easily when loaded to around 1100 fps.

Oh, and Berry's plated bullets; anybody use these for their revolvers in any caliber? Is the plating soft enough for a roll crimp to "dent" the bullet, since they have no cannelure? The price is a whole lot better than the XTP, and would make a great range bullet, which is what I'm really looking for. I've used plated bullets in my .40S&W and 10mm, but I don't crimp them.

Mainly just looking for some different weight bullets, heck, even .44 magnum has 5 or 6 different bullets available, including some lead cowboy action stuff. Would love to find some of those in a .410 diameter.

I just started loading for my BIL’s new 41 Mag. I bought some of the Hornady 210 XTP’s but also a Lee 195gr SWC mold. I cast some but haven’t shot them yet. It’s a great way to go for oddball bullet sizes. Lots of choices in molds.

Sierra makes a 170 gr JHC bullet for the .41 mag. A very good bullet. You can move them right along. I shoot Bayou Bullets coated 215 bullets in my .41 Mag. I shoot the Berry's Bullets in 9mm and .357 Mag. But...I like the Bayou Bullets so well in the .41 Mag I will not even try the Berrys Bullets for that caliber. The Bayou Bullets have a crimp ring and I use a light roll crimp. I taper crimp with the Berrys Bullets in the calibers I do load them in. I have no probems with the plating and in fact roll crimped a couple of them and pulled them to see. The platting stayed on fine and there was a indented ring where they were crimped.

Not sure if cowboy action allows coated or plated bullets? Plated allowed, coated not, I think. Cowboy action does not allow .41 Mag either, I think.

I get my best accuracy from my .41 Mag with the Hornady XTP at maximum velocities. Better accuracy than I get from the soft loads with the coated bullets. I generally load the coated bullets with Trail Boss and I maybe get a little less accuracy than I did with Universal but I am not sure. It is good enough for what I do and how I shoot

Xtreme Bullets makes a 210 FP copper plated that works well in mild loads.
Yep, I use a taper crimp on them.

I am sure if Berrys makes one it would work as well. These days the coated lead bullets are a good, if not superior, choice, and they can be driven full speed as well.

Berry's website says to limit MV to around 1250 fps, which is fine with me because I'm looking for something I can drive around that speed.

Lots more choices than I had figured, or found on my own, thanks for the recommendations.

As for the lead Cowboy Action stuff, I'm not looking to shoot Cowboy Action, but thinking of wadcutters and paper punching with them. Nothing so satisfying as a clean-cut hole in a paper target rather than a ripped stab hole.

Why wouldn't Cowboy Action not allow .41 Magnum? The Hornady manual shows several such bullets available for the .44 Magnum. The type of bullet limits how fast you can load them anyway, unless you want tons of lead fouling to clean up. Both calibers can be downloaded almost to the speeds of "normal" .41 and .44 Special, which saves having to cut .41 Mag cases because the shorter Special case isn't commercially made, unless it's recent.

I am sorry. I was wrong. I just checked the rules and I think .41 Mag is allowed in cowboy action shooting. Not sure how I got that idea. Maybe because some companies do not list cowboy loads for it.
