I have an original 1892 in 357. My brother and I bought a shot out 38-40 rifle and had it rebarrelled to 357 when The Rifleman was on, complete with big loop lever and set screw. Two problems, one the crescent buttplate hurts the groin when shooting Chuck Connors style and the 24" barrel buried the ivory bead in my shoulder when I spun it (empty). Fun explaining that to the doctor. Cost, $45 for the gun, about $100 for the conversion. I shoot it once a year on my late brother's birthday.
The 92 is the perfect vehicle for a 357. I'm seriously considering making a carbine out of it.
I'm confused on how a person hurts either their groin or armpit when shooting a rifle. If a rifle hurts the groin when you're shooting it, you're doing it wrong. I hate to be the bearer of bad news .... + Connors used a carbine with shorter barrel. As an aside he was tall and lanky. Many lesser gods have spun 92 barrels into their armpits.
Groins .... remain relatively ... uninjured.

Only thing I've injured was a collar bone and forehead.

Hip would have been a better term. I know that Chuck was 6'6" . An eighteen year old doesn't consider things like that. How do you spin it into your armpit?
