I know, I know....these have got to be the ugliest handgun going. But, I sort of dig them. I purchased a 22LR version and have been on the hunt for either a 38 special or 357 magnum version for a while now but can't seem to find one.

Heck, I am debating on getting the 22 magnum version too!

If you have an opinion on one, let's hear it!

If you have one, let's see it!

I considered buying the LCRx .22LR. I really like the white stripe front sight, but I opted for the S&W 63 and immediately regretted it once I found that I hate the red fiber optic front sight. It “blobbed out” on me. I have astigmatism. But the kicker was having to send the gun back because the barrel to cylinder gap was 0.015” on the left and 0.005” on the right.

Some folks complained the triggers on the LCR’s are hit and miss in regards to good or bad pulls. I would rather search for a gun with a good trigger pull than have to deal with bad QC and having to send a brand new gun back for repairs. Yes, I have heard stories about Ruger QC. I have not had that problem with them, but I haven’t bought any of the DA revolvers.

I say go with what you like.

I waited years for the 3" .22 to be made and then it was made and I didn't buy one. Something told me not to because the $400+ Ruger was asking didn't feel right, then I saw Taurus was making a new 8 shot .22 revolver and they had an ultralight one that has an Aluminum frame and I decided to go with that one for under $300.

My hope is the price and availability get better by next Summer.

I have a 3"LCRX 357 that I enjoy shooting and carrying. Very accurate and reliable.

I had the 3" in 22mag but didn't shoot much (I prefer my LCR22WMR) and didn't really care for. Traded it for some cash and a Bersa Firestorm.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they are sweet looking guns.

I agree with 1kperday, the snubby lcr's are kind of fugly, but the 3" one's (while still not pretty) have a cool utilitarian look. I'd love to have a .22lr some day, I just have a hard time paying the price they go for.

I have the LCR 357 mag,( Not the X) Great trigger out of the box. Even though I am a SW revolver guy. I like all Rugers as well.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; my LCRx trigger is excellent, is lightweight, easy to carry, and most importantly is accurate and reliable. This is my daily CCW. I have no regrets in carrying this .38 Special +P. Hornady American Gunner 125 grain hollowpoints are my self defense load.
