a new ruger american predator is my birthday present. didn't want to chase brass. so a bolt gun is where it is at.
..already have the same gun in 6mm creedmoor. i can switch the scope back and forth.( 2.5x10 30mm titanium black diamond burris)
...the ar mag thingy sounds good but this thing aint no model 70 or a commercial mauser when it comes to smooth feeding. a couple of spring coils clipped helped some...oh well 489 with tax is alot more old guy income friendly though. ..
,,,got dies, two boxes of ammo and waiting on bullets. any self respecting reloader should already have primers and powders on hand. .
....wenesday is a warm up so that is range day, dc

the ruger website says one in eight with a 22 inch barrel. do you have rings yet? they look like they might be a factory only thing. the wood and blued steel is definitely nicer than the plastic and blasted whatever look.

I have a CZ also and like it.

I wanted wood, and a 24" light barrel which is why I went cz, but in actual use, I probably would have been just as happy with the American. I could have added a wood stock for the same as what the CZ cost me i think.

well i stopped on the way to work today, couldnt help my self. fired three shots. the ruger american in 6 creedmoor is going south already. no need for the noise, the extra powder or shorter barrel life.
.....while there recoil not obnoxious at all. i would say it is on par with a 250 savage. (you other geezers know what that is) before you young guys laugh i did my 50bmg, 300 weatherby accurmark, 35 whelen, 375 h and h and 45 90, 454 casull ,50 action express thing when i was 20 years younger. bob

Yes, I have Warne rings. The CZ has a 16mm dovetail on the receiver. Also, it has the same barrel twist you have.
