Rough Coyote

Look closely and you'll see a big patch of hide missing on the back of this coyote as he approaches the carcass of a hog I had shot and put out. OUCH.....! Probably the result of a fight.

No, its a huge rip in the hide. Hard to see in the posted video I know, but on my computer (full screen) it is easy to see. The bloody, raw muscle underneath is exposed.

Didn't on this one, but on many...yes. It tends to help the evisceration process by the scavengers.

It's not even debatable....when I have the video full screen on my computer it shows up quite clearly, but the pixels aren't clear enough for a good photo to show here. I'll post it anyway later. Busy keeping the household going right now. Generator running (power out). Got 4-1/2" of heavy, wet, snow last night, so lots of power lines down.

Not sure you can see this any better. (tried to get a closer video on my phone) but maybe you can make out the chunk of hide that is missing. Its not from mange, I see mangy coyotes several times a year and know what they look like. This one has been in a fight of some kind I believe.
