ALL,

I'm trying to find a laser trainer for a striker fire pistol; specifically, a way to keep the weapon in battery the whole time and simply keep pulling the trigger without having to move the slide to reset the trigger. Basically, I'm looking for a laser trainer that simulates shooting in normal semi-automatic condition.

I'd be using this with Glock and/or SIG P320 models.

Also, I'm looking for something that I can use my own weapon with, not a simulated weapon. I've seen a product that clipped on a Glock slide to do this, but it seems that company is out of business.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Scott

Laser training bullets are nice but you do have to run the slide each time.

Sirt is a good option but would only duplicate one model

I can't recall the name, but there is one that replaces the barrel and recoil spring with a CO2 tank. 'Firing' the pistol works the slide, simulating recoil. The barrel tank is filled from the front from a 90 gram cartridge.

Cool fire trainer

Thanks all. I know about the SIRT Training pistols, but I'd rather find a way to use my own weapons.

I am trying to avoid a trainer where I have to break grip to run the slide each time. I don't want to learn that as a habit.

Thanks for the info on the Cool Fire Trainer.

Is there anything else out there? I'm willing to temporarily modify the weapon to train with and then return it to normal function later.

Looked into those, I have this memory it's a new lightweight slide and in the $600-800 range.
But, I could be misremembering.

Coolfire replaces the barrel and is about 500 bucks all in for conversion, a laser, extra firing tips and an initial tank of CO2.

The concept intrigues the hell out of me but I have read some negative and even though I am not known for my financial sense 500 bucks is REAL MONEY.

The SIRT does not require you to 'break grip' and therefore is a GREAT choice.

I bought one at a great price at the USCCA convention I went to a few years back .

And its still working on the same batterys and its THE best as there is no chance AT ALL of a AD/ND.

To each their own,but for the price,SAFETY,& all around usefulness = SIRT gets my vote.

NO = I have no means of a profit from this post.

I have recently been looking into this also, I have just purchased and received one of these today, 2/10 so have not had a chance to evaluate it yet and won't until the weekend at a minimum.

G-Sight, at around $90 a caliber it's kind of pricey but about average of the options that I found. They have some videos on their site and also you tube. I have no affiliation with this company it is just the one I chose.

This might not be quite what you are looking for as unless your gun is double action it will need to be manually cycled each trigger press.

If I get time this weekend I will try it out and let you know what I think of it. Useful or gimmick

Aside from all mentioned above, I just ordered a Mantis X Blackbeard. I have been using the SIRT-AR bolt but would also like the true feel of my geissele. Blackbeard uses a motor to reset the trigger after depressed, and fires a laser shot. Grant it these are both AR, for pistol I have the SIRT 110 (Glock) and really like it, obviously this lacks muzzle flip or recoil BUT when used with something like smokeless range affords a completely different level of training than I could ever do regularly on a flat outdoor range. IE: outdoor range live fire I can focus on recoil management but during this drought have really focused on dry fire and other skills more difficult to accomplish in a live fire setting.

I have an update on the G Sight laser training system. It works pretty good, I only have single action semi's so having to rack the slide each shot is inconvenient at the minimum. It is definitely better than nothing and would probably be better with a double action pistol. The phone / tablet app to use with it works fine and is easy to understand and use

I had some minor issues with one of the laser cartridges and had to contact them with my problem, their customer service is very good.

Overall I would recommend this as an under $100 system. I will be keeping my eye out for
another system to compare it to.

Shine on

DryFireMag might be what you're looking for. Pair it with the Mantis. I've been pretty happy with mine for when I can't get out to shoot or when I'm traveling doing training.
