Stevens Model 311 20ga. Double Bakelite stock repair?

I know of no way to repair it that doesn't look bad (epoxy with dye). Boyds makes replacement stocks in wood / laminate.

I have seen Brownell's Acraglas stained to match and used to repair those old stocks. Did not look bad at all. I have a soft spot for 311s.

I have yet to find a good bonding agent for the what is called tenite ? stocks. The material seems oily and prevents good adhesion. (my experience) . You will also notice the warpage of the stock at the top RH side in your pictures. This leaves only a small contact point between the stock and receiver. In my opinion replacement with wood stocks is the best solution.

Have you tried the usual suspects, Gun Parts Corp, etc, for a possible original wood replacement?

Tenite, which is what your stock is, is made from cellulose wood fibers. Bakelite, the first plastic, is made from phenol and formaldehyde.

Products which may adhere to one may not work for the other.

I'd also try to find an original stock. There were lots of 311's made.
