Felt I should add, by the way, this is a most excellent shooter with no modifications whatsoever.
Accurate, reliable, un-finicky and no galling to date.

Sounds like a gun built on dry-run bearings.:D

Pre-Olympic MS Safari Arms by Don McNabb back in the late 70's and early 80's.

I jonsed for one of these for years reading about things I couldn't afford, in magazines I didn't have the sense to subscribe to.:D

This one's a Matchmaster and a sweet unit it is too. He had been on a safari and noted that the professionals favored Wilson (I think) custom 1911s and he thought a fella ought to be able to buy rather than build a *custom gun*.

This one intrigues for its very early use of a beavertail as standard, S&W rear sight - standard, threaded barrel bushing and aluminum frame with a bunch of features. It also has my favorite extended controls on any 1911 that I own.

It shoots like a laser, doesn't care about ammo or magazines and is refreshingly light for a full-sized 1911.

I have three 1911’s...

The first is my pride and joy — an M1911 Navy Colt (made in Oct 1912). My great-uncle was a Torpedoman Chief in the Pacific in WW II and “brought it home” when he retired in the 50’s.

The second is a RIA 1911 M1 that I bought as a project gun. Wilson Combat beaver tail and trigger, King 3-dot sights and hammer. The second photo is a set of custom grips from my ship.

Finally, a Ruger SR1911. I like the factory grips, but the second set of Altamont G10’s completely changes the look!

If I get another 1911, it might be a Sig...

I like whatever photo technique that is.

It’s actually from my iPhone of all cameras. I just got my upgrade and wanted to try it out. Some of the newer ones (mines an iPhone 12) have a portrait mode that blurs out the background. Have taken pictures of some of my rifles but I want to get all them photographed like that. See attached to see my French WW1 Winchester 1907 with a French 10 round magazine and S&W Revolver with basket weave grips.

I like how it makes them look like miniatures.

AMT was known for their long-slide guns, but quality was kinda hit-or-miss.

That is too bad...... I'd rather have a hit, like most, rather than a miss.... (Thinking that a longer barrel would deliver better accuracy)

To keep on topic, I'll post an older picture of a purchase from last October.

A Kimber Rapide in 45 acp. With two Wilson magazines.

Only 95 rounds through it so far as when I bought it, I did not have bullets to load, but one box of factory and some old military load from 1960.

Anyways, IMO, autos are for shootin' when there is no snow so one can retrieve his brass........(Get my drift, pun intended!)

Now have hundreds of loads reloaded to shoot and can not wait for Spring!

Also have Mark Fedders over at Lobo Gun Leather building a shoulder holster for me that should be ready in April after the snow is (hopefully) gone.

Can't wait!
