I just got an order of Xtreme plated bullets. They are 230gr Rn I plan to load for a full size 1911. I've never tried them and I'm planning on using Titegroup.

I was getting low on 45 cal bullets and found these. My plan is using them for general plinking. I was going to start my work up today but got as far as priming the cases.

I'm just curious if anyone else is using this bullet and how they are liked or disliked? I plan on doing some measurements and checking weights for consistency tomorrow before I start loading them.

I've had decent luck with berry's plated bullets for general plinking at 7-25 yards but they are definitely not my first choice. Again if you have tried this brand I am curious on your thoughts.

My 45 acp loads are pretty soft. I've used plated bullets in my 45acp loads using Berry's and .38/357 RMR plated bullets. I have had excellent results with the RMR brand. I'm just not 100% sold on the plated bullets as a whole.

To me, they're a good compromise if you do not push things hard. I have used Xtreme, Berry, Bayou and others for a long time in 38/357, 9mm and 45 with good accuracy and cost.

Xtreme plated bullets are my preferred bullets for practice ammo. I’ve been using them for several years and have no complaints.

Nice and shiny too. They work well for me in 9, 357, 45 and 223. They just sent out an email sale too.

Haven't used Xtreme, but I like plated bullets real well in modest pressure cartridges. 38 special and 45 ACP are ideal for plated as they aren't high pressure. I don't push these cartridges beyond standard pressure and mostly look for accuracy rather than max power. Plated works great in that application.

The only place I have pushed at all is the Berry's plated DEWC in 38. The 4 grains of HP38 load I like is reasonably stout and sometimes I wonder what it would be capable of if I put it in a 357 case and pushed it.

I bought some pretty light ones in .355....95 or 100gr I think...to load in .380. I weighed about 30 of them and they're really consistent. Like them well enough I'd buy some in .45 if I found them.

I loaded X-treme plated bullets for 9mm (124gr HP) and 45ACP (230gr RN) exclusively for a couple of years until their shipping charges went bonkers when they came out of bankruptcy. If they were still competitively priced, I wouldn’t shoot anything else. Great quality. Of course, in today’s market, if they even have bullets in stock, they are pretty much competitively priced by default. ;)

X-treme bullets are good products. I like the 230 grainers and 700X in 45 ACP loads. I ended up with a starting load for jacketed bullets load that shot best after working up. The also used to make a heavy plated version and I purchased a bunch of the 124 grain .311 FP of those for use in 7.62X39 ammo. Don't They know if they still do make them though. Also worked great. Lately I have gone to Hi Tec coated for cost savings for handgun bullets though. I think you will be impressed with them.

Currently loading and shooting Xtremes in 9mm. No issues at all. Just make sure you have a proper bell on the case before seating the projectile or you risk shaving off some of the plating.

One of the few 200 gr roundnose .45s on the market; I have loaded some thousands. Pandemic panic price increases have got me loading coated now. I will be testing 200 gr RNFP today because the only place that made 200 gr RN dropped them to emphasize production of more popular bullets in the pandemic panic.

I used them in the past, they were ok bullets. When they raised their prices, and started charging for shipping, I moved over to FMJ bullets, at the time ( before the shortages) I could get FMJ for about the same price.

Like the others Ive shot lots of Extreme plated bullets, they’ve always worked well for me.

Let us know how they shoot for you when you get a chance to hit the range .

Stay safe.

There are 3 bullets I shoot from 2 different 45acp's; 200gr Berry's, 200gr Xtreme and a home cast 225gr lead from a Lyman mold.

I found these bullets on ammoseek.com.
I spent a good part of the day changing out my dishwasher that took a crap. I also bought a little project truck this afternoon so my reloading hobby was put on the back burner today. I finished the dishwasher installation then found the truck right when I was ready to start my reloading job.

Stoopid new camaro has me all screwed up right now. I wish would have kept my old faithful truck.

Xtreme weights are not as consistent as Berrys, in the 115gr. That doesn't matter for me, as I load mainly for 7 yard pistol training. It's interesting though, that even with the difference in weight deviation, xtreme is more accurate at 25 and 50 yds in my PCC. Maybe because they are .355 rather than the .356 Berry's? I am going to ladder test them for the PCC.
