Tell me about the mid-60's Savage 110...

A LGS has a beautiful Savage 110 in .338 Win Mag from 1965. Looks like it went to the range a couple times and then spent the rest of the time in a dry climate safe.

How are these guns for reliability and accuracy? Spare parts? Any other vices?

I like the fact that plastic and polymer are absent from the gun, except the buttplate.

I guess there is not a lot of love for Gen 1 Savage 110's.

From my research, they are essentially a different gun than the later / current platform, with the bolt system having common characteristics with the 340 series.

I will check it out again.
