For some time now I've had a WTB in classifieds here and elsewhere for a used reproduction 1860 Army .44 . I'm not too fussy about make as long as it's steel framed, complete, functional, abuse free, etc. I don't need nor am looking to spend the $ for a new one. I've had no luck to date. Does anyone know of a member that could likely have a lead on one ? Many thanks in advance.

People that have them are holding on to them perhaps due to the uncertainty of the times. A new one may be your only immediate solution.Dixie Gun Works has them in stock as of today (4-9-21). They are running 3 or more weeks behind with shipping.

I saw a recent MLF ad for a discontinued unfired Colt 1860 made in 1998 that sold for $330.
Another NSS-A ad from Feb., 2021 for a NIB Uberti 1860 was asking for $325 shipped that went unsold.
It seems that with the high market prices even older guns can cost about as much as a new one.

Maybe by registering with Proxibid a person could find a bargain by sorting through some upcoming live gun auctions. --->>> https://www.proxibid.com

Just got one from MidwayUsa a week ago. Man did they ever sell out quick. I just happened to check at the right time/window. I re checked 20 min later and they were all gone.

I paid $320 plus shipping. At that price point, I wouldn't even buy used. Especially with a BP firearm. Unless it was all Goonerized.

Sad I remember the Pietta's going for $199 and the Uberti's were $75 or so more.

I have one, it's an old ASM that's been tuned with all the goodies, music wire springs, action shield and stop, Ruger type hand pushrod and spring, bolt guide. I need to check the chamber size, it may take .457 ball. PM me if you're interested.
