What did you shoot today?

300 win mag = Ruger Precision yesterday.
Had been waiting for a high wind, got up to about 30 mph, tried to get
the shot off during a hard gust left to right, holding center it only moved right about 2"
was expecting more but you have to consider most of the range is in a
15 yard wide lane with HEAVY brush on each side all the way to the target.
165 grain sierra hpbt max.
Only have 11 of them loaded & zero so I need to load more.

New to me Beretta M9
Canik TPS9 elite
Browning Hi Power
Rock Island Tac Ultra 10mm

For the first time in a while, I made it out to the range today. I've been loading some 9mm for the past week, so I took a couple hundred of my older 9mm rounds out. I also took the 10mm for a little fun.

Shot 300 9mm and 100 10mm before the rain came. It was a good day!

Still love the TPS9 Elite, but that Hi Power is a heck of a shooter.

I didn't shoot nothing today it was too windy, so I sat at home & reloaded some .308 brass that I picked up at the range last time I was there.
I'm using some primers that the guy at the gun shop said came from an estate sale, I bought all he had. They look old to me I wonder how old they are because I have never seen them packaged this way.

Nuttin', honey. The wind really howled yesterday and hasn't gotten it out of it's system yet. I'm saving my ammo for better days. I'm beginning to wonder it we are even going to have one this year.

Took one of the grandsons to shoot his mom's P89 at the 300 meter gong. Practical? No. Fun? Oh yeah.
Also took the '51 Colt Navy for some sloooow shooting on the 15 meter range. Told the grandson the reason people back in the day were such good shots is because it takes so long to reload, they had to make the first 5 shots count!

Had the Savage Axis II XP 6.5 Creedmoor out for the first time today at the local gun club. A fine Saturday morning all to myself and a real treat to put the first few rounds through it and begin sighting in the scope. Tomorrow more of the same. Savage Axis range a.jpg savage axis range b.jpg

Stayed home. Too windy for range. Did watch the house "shoot up" another $3000/day in value.

Actually it was Thursday, my Franklin Armory 10-22 binary kit got here Wednesday, and Thursday was a beautiful afternoon!
I put the kit in my 10-22 Charger this morning and the only “scary” part was installing the spring & detent for the safety ... it got away once but I was working on a fuzzy blanket and with a dab of grease on the spring, it did not bounce & disappear!

After lunch I went to the range and only one of the pistol ranges was empty (I really didn’t want anyone watching yet). I zeroed the scope and it was close at 25yards, a couple adjustments and the other 8 went in the 10 ring.

The learning curve is almost ZERO! (I do have other kits but haven’t practiced much with them.)

I was using 25 round Ruger mags and ripping them so fast I’m sure people on the ranges adjacent to me had to be thinking I was shooting full-otto, but in truth there were a couple short pauses, but it was almost as fast as my M16 with my CMMG PDW 22 M16 upper.

I bought my kit on GunBroker, it was the least expensive one listed with “Buy it Now” ... IIRC it was $267 shipped Priority Mail ... about the same as a low-end new 10-22.
I’ve got 3other Franklin Armory kits, a MP5, CZ EVO, and AR15 ... but the 10-22 with the lightest bolt and recoil, it’s easily the most controllable.
At 50yards we have a human steel silhouette. I was shooting Mini-Mags through a form1 suppressor, in binary mode. I was dinging it with every round ... and walked away with a huge grin!

Lastly, I was sure I had enough 22LR put back for my grandkids, and maybe a little left for the great-grandkids ... but now I’m not so sure!

One of the hunting camp crew and I went " Up North" this evening just to check things out near our camp.
We have a range there so it has become almost mandatory to bring firearms to shoot.

The black flies (or sand flies) were so bad that it was difficult to shoot with Thermo-cells and bug dope on.
Scott did not participate but I managed to get 35 rounds of 45 acp through my Kimber Rapide.

Slowly but surly, I will get it broke in. Load count up to an astounding 192 rounds so far....since October 9th of last year when purchased.............:(

Volunteer at the range (RSO) yesterday and one of the shooters let me try his new CZ Scorpion 9mm.
It was cool. I think I would prefer a PCC to the pistol for shooting. He is going to add a brace, which I think will make it much easier to shoot!
