Please write a gun poem for me

Hello

I am a fan of revolvers, lever actions and less-than tactical guns in general (I still shoot Galil and P07 tho, cause they are so good and effective considering I am still improving my accuracy).

I also have a gun channel, I struggle to have any views. It seems everything modern was tried already. I need some old way to entertain people. I am going to... recite poetry on my channel. Gun related poetry.

The only problem is that I am not an native speaker, therefore I can read well but creating... it will put comedy in a place where it should not be, so I would prefer to avoid engrish.

Would any of you had any gun related poem created, getting dust or afraid to show it to the world?

If you do, and you are willing to share I would gladly recite it on my channel, reading author name loud - it would be up to you whether you want your real name or ,,romantic plate carrier" or some other name.

Ofc it doesn't have to be good, or professional. I am not professional.

You can also create something on the go, as long as its not extremely offensive I will gladly read it on my channel.

Also I do not intent to make any money from my channel.

Thank you!
Ruger is red,
Smith is blue.
With either one,
No bad dudes for you.

A poignant narrative, especially on our Memorial Day.
I hope we all strive to ensure that this poem falls untrue in our presence.
Our uniformed soldiers, of any nation, but especially the United States of America, should be respected as humans doing their job at all times, not just when their guns are forward.

One day he will let me know why he let me walk the earth so long.
I know one of the reasons, Sensei…:)

Sit down boys and take a lesson
From those folks at Smith & Wesson
The workmanship is second to none but
The shooting part is the real fun
The faint smooth action, it is real precision
The other brands can't even envision
When quality is first, it is what you'll get
From the 44 mag to the 22 jet.
A top revolver there Is none finer
than a Smith & Wesson 29er
The 29 is the one to carry
Just ask my good friend Dirty Harry
There are K frames, L frames, and J frames to
But the N frame that's the one for you.
So I hope you boys all learned your lesson
From all those folks over at Smith & Wesson

I came across this on Buffalo Outdoors and liked it.

The one-hole group, the one-shot kill,
worthy endeavors, a test of will.
Not every shot flies straight and true,
but with patience and care, more of them do.

With each field session, with each downed bird,
I could have sworn I heard
"That's it, son, you're doing fine
with that old Fox double that once was mine."

The rain drums down staccato, hissing as it touches the chimney pipe.
The old man settles into his chair
Upon the porch that circles the cabin in the woods

The rain drums down staccato, hissing as it touches the chimney pipe.
The petrichor mixes with leather and tobacco and damp dog
Hoppe's and the sharp scent of hardwood smoke

The rain drums down staccato, hissing as it touches the chimney pipe.
Herself nods away, the cat content furry puddle in her lap
The creak of the rocker's runners faint in the rain

The rain drums down staccato, hissing as it touches the chimney pipe.
Relic of a great conflict delivered its jacketed load
The pig, now in the smoke house, to cure

The rain drums down staccato, hissing as it touches the chimney pipe.
The rimfire stands at the door, Herself having put paid to
House-breaking tree rats, now made into pet food

The rain drums down staccato, hissing as it touches the chimney pipe.
On this special day, they, veterans both, survey
The rewards of their Service, and of all the prices Paid

The rain drums down staccato, hissing as it touches the chimney pipe.

I pulled my gun and shot my toe
I asked my doctor am I hurt?
He said no silly, your gun is a squirt

There once was a gun shop in Nantucket
Owned by an old man named Puckett,
He had neary a sale,
So he up and turned tail
Now he has not a pot or a bucket

.....and you thought that was going to be dirty...shame an you:D

Haiku is a poem
Lost in English as a bat
Known like a 12 gauge

I prefer Petrarchan sonnet in iambic pentameter, as the untranslatable cut words don’t directly correlate with my way of culture and thought.

But I have been known to dabble…;)

Ok, I will take a stab but I am a science guy, not English;)

He lies alone on a foreign shore
His dreams, his hope ,his future are no more
He came there gun in hand
Because his country decided to take a stand
To aid and help a foreign land
Many people wonder why
This man had to die
His answer if he could speak
Is that we must help those who are weak
Now on this Memorial day
We remember why he was sent away
His sacrifice was not in vain
Even though no one remembers his name.

There is nothing quite like holding a frontier gun
The patina of steel, walnut and worn color case hardening
Speak of tougher times and of the men and horses who carried
those frontier guns

You are awesome - I absolutely love your poems. I can't even believe how much effort you put in and how many responses I got. You have talent, I can see that. I am not sure I can convey all of that with my reciting skills but will do my best.

Will start recording soon. I will take on memorial poem by Armored Farmer and poem of Gunnery Sergeant G.Lee Bihm (please forgive me if I misspelled your rank. If I did it it was by mistake - I have nothing but respect for you) as last, as its about soldiers who served for the country, so the least I can do is to get the background music and microphone right first.

Only one more question - most of the poems here have no title. Would you be okay with me making something up based on poem itself or would you prefer to do it yourself?

This one goes first

Two pistols sat in a yellowed case,
And sorry I could not own both
And be a homeward bound traveler;), long I stood
And looked one over best as I could
To where even the rifling bent into the bore;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was glossy and blue and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the 38 Supers through them
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In perfect shine the chambers, no cartridge black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two pistols sat in a yellowed case, and I—
I took the pistol less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

:)

With great thanks to Robert Frost, from a fellow traveler.

Mans sees gun
For costly sum
But funds say no
And so he go

Work till late
Baloney ate
Till cash he had
But now man sad

Gun done gone
Sold at dawn
Though wallet flush
He lost his crush

Temper flares
man now swears
His face beet red
He hangs his head

Clerk then say
"Do not fray"
"Just order through me"
"Come on day three"
"And keep your wits about you."

Spent almost 30 years in the service of my country,
through sweat, blood, and tears there was always my rifle.

Now the government's gone mad, they're spending too much money,
they preach hatred, and division, my freedom they stifle.

Can't speak out online, it's against their "community",
TV news, and Hollywood movies, is just another earful, and eyeful.

They need to stop, and remember there are lots out here like me,
if there's one thing we've learned, it's "This is my rifle..."

BTW, I wasn't a Marine, I was Army, but we're all brothers, and most of us know the rifleman's creed anyway. Plus I was ate-up enough to be a Marine.

I had some audio issues, quality is not the best. But regardless its up.

Hmm. I hadn’t thought of that. I guess I better stick with carpentry!:D

I think the title is at the bottom of the first, “Fellow Traveler”.
Then “Barrels 1&2”,
And “Venerable”.

Ha! Fun!:)
