The 30 TC I'm thinking of is basically a 300 savage with a new name and some slight changes.
It was originally released for TC's icon and competed directly with the 308 which is I think what really killed it.
Factory ammo was supposed to clock 100-150 feet per second faster than an equal weight 308, And from what I'm remembering the factory ammo did do what it said it was supposed to.
But load data basically put it on par with the 308 in terms of performance.
Very similar relationship between the 6.5 Creedmoor and the 260 Remington except the 6.5 won and the 260 didn't in this case.... Then again the Creedmoor didn't have to fight against 60 plus years of venerability, and worldwide acceptance....
That size cartridge produces enough bolt thrust to stretch a contender frame in short order and I don't believe it was ever chambered for the contender pistols.
It would have been fine and I believe it was chambered in the larger framed Encores.
