My two most favorite shootin’ irons. Both Uberti products. The Henry is 44WCF and my fluted beauty is of course .44. I’ve always been fascinated by Civil War weapons. (I know, I need to refinish the ugly Uberti stock finishes!)

I have another one somewhere... I’ll try to find the picture.

Stay safe.

I like my rifles to chamber rifle cartridges and my revolvers to chamber handgun cartridges. Here is my pairing, a Winchester Model 1895, chambered in 405 WCF, and a S&W Hand Ejector chambered in 45 ACP. Never saw the purpose in a rifle chambered for a handgun cartridge.

How's that .405 on the shoulder. My brain says I need one.

I treat it like a 40-72, with smokeless equivalent loads. Plenty enough for my replacement shoulder and plenty for white tailed deer and most other game on North America. I use the Lyman 412263. I cast mine from 30/1 and load them over 28 grains of 5744. I do have several boxes of Hornaday in case the lions or tigers decide to become North.
