I don't get my airguns out to 50 yards very often but had the opportunity today.

All right so I took a long lunch today and actually got out to do some longer range stuff. I was primarily going to the range to run some defensive handguns and I didn't have a lot of time but I was able to run 2 10 shot groups at somewhere between 50-60 yards. I only had time to run the two groups.

Since "long" range spring gun shooting isn't my forte' it came down to bringing either the HW97 or the TX200 in order to give me the best chance for success. The TX200 won the toss and was shot with Air Arms Diabolo Fields.

Truth be told I was a little off my game and rushed today so I MIGHT be able to tighten these up on a better day but I am probably just as likely to open them up quite a bit but here we are today.

Here was my 90 degree in direct sun shooting position. Awesome for a polar bear person such as myself. undecided.gif Rest is one of those foam multiple position blocks and there was little wind today.

and here are the results all in all I am pretty happy. Had quite a few same hole's so to speak and only took a single shot to get my POA down.

So there you have it a rare 50 yard air rifle group from me. What this really shows in the TX200 and Air Arms Diablolo Fields are quality kit.

As always take care, shoot safe and praise be air conditioning cheesy.gif

Very good Group and it's always hard to Shot when your in a Hurry..Like your Rifle..Keep Shooting

90 in the shade isn't fun but 90 in the direct sun? That's just plain gross! Thanks for your sacrifice and posting those groups!

Being new to air rifle capabilities, would it be fair to say those groups are good for that range?

It would be fair to say those groups are good for ME. The rifle is capable of much better but spring guns take some practice and effort and I don't get them out at distance too often. Realistically I could tighten those groups up to say a little bigger then silver dollar. Better shots could do much better. Its also a game of figuring out which pellet works best at that distance with that rifle so after dialing it all in the groups could be better.

very respectable groups at 50 yrds for springers. Sure you didn't cheat with PCP?
HA! My only PCPs are technically 10m target guns. I am sure they would shoot at 50 but they haven’t been shot past 20y.

The TX200 is a very forgiving and accurate rifle.

The rest in the first picture is vey interesting. Is it a foam rest? Home made or purchased? source?

yes it is a rigid foam rest that can be oriented different ways for differing heights etc. VERY light weight and easier to lug around then my old traditional rest. I THINK I bought it off of Amazon after seeing somebody else use it somewhere.

It’s not as stable as a bigger or heavier traditional rest but WAY more convenient and works extremely well.
