An Airgun section, just exactlly what this okace neded!
So many of us celebrate various aspects of the shooting game
Airguns are a welcome diversion from regular Powder fired projectiles! New trajecories and similar. trajectories and group sizes.
I have been an airgunner since the 1960's and have loved the versitility andusefulness of a air/Pellet firing gun. Low noise levels and limited range shots make it very intresting! You can shoot places that you used to just throw rocks!
The airguns themselves run the gamut from simple Pump-up Pneumatics tovery specialised and super refined Springers.
With the introduction of PCP's longer range shots and tighter groups are easilly attainable. Preformance is more Powder fired-like!
With the current issues in the shooting scene, more shooters are discovering air rifles and Pistols, and are using them as primary shooting tools rather than using them as diversions.
Attainable groups at 30 to 60 yards are incrediable!
I am a Springer fan, shooting mainly .22 and .177 calibers for most of my shooting. I shoot the .22 for long range shotsThey are less affected by crosswinds the .177's are great 10m match pellets
For hunting, each caliber has certain advanges, Penetration with the .177makes vitals shots possible, and high impacts wth the .22 makes goodnchring shots easilly posible.
As you can see, airguns open broad shooting fields that had been closed due to the power levels of Powder fired guns, that exceeded the new "safe" levels in urban areas.
Many Shooting Clubs have opened their indoor ranges to airguns. Quiet and low powered, they introduce new possibilityties themselves!
The near future will tell the tales to what airgunning is capabile of!
Yep folks it's going to get interesting real soon and we are going to be part of it!
