I looked at one in person a few years back in .357; I wasn’t terribly impressed with it overall.
At the time SOG(Southern Ohio Gun) was closing down and had GW II Californians in stock for under $400 shipped.
I got one in .45 LC intending to eventually get a .45 ACP cylinder.
The fit and finish was impressive for the price as were the mechanicals. I disliked the ejector rod safety block so I purchased a NOS Colt rod that fit perfectly and resigned to only carry it with 5 rounds and an empty chamber if I ever did. Never got a .45 ACP cylinder (yet) but did get a Lyman hand loading kit in .45 LC and for .38 SPL as well.

They are very nice inside but prone the the usual leaf spring breakage. Replace and properly time with wire springs and they are very nice especially in brite Nickel and .45 Colt !

These are not copies of the Colt SAA. The firing system uses a transfer bar similar to Ruger to allow a full-cylinder carry. The cylinder is closer in size to an N-frame S&W than an SAA. Brownells used to offer (and still might) a main spring/bolt spring kit that drops the trigger pull down to approx. 5 lbs. Going lower will cause misfires because of the transfer bar.
