Lyman's 50th edition is the only thing I have that offers load data with 700x in 10mm. I wanted to try some Berry's 200gr bullets and Lyman lists 5.8gr as the max charge, so I went with 5.0gr.

I've had the 10mm almost a year now and this is the first time loading for it. I'm pretty hesitant because I don't like not being able to hear the powder in the case when I shake it, but I did measure and it looks like I have a minimum of .035" of airspace between the powder and base of the bullet.

Should I proceed? I only loaded 15 rds.

I use it with 230 grain bullets in 45 ACP and it works great for that. If in doubt get on the Hodgdon web site and email a question. They have always had a fast response when I ask. Stay safe.

There's some older 700X data on the 10mm Load Data Collection of the 10mm-firearms forum. From what I've read, it makes for a light, soft load in the 10mm, one that might barely cycle the slide.

Hornady (8th ed) has 700x listed for 180gr (SWC) from 3.7gr (750fps) to 5.3gr (950fps).
Nothing in Speer, Nosler, and shooters reference.
Barnes' data is IMR 700x

The load shot fine, very mild actually. Even with a few more tenths of 700x, it still wouldn't be fast enough so I think the next load I do with those Berry's bullets will be with Power Pistol and Blue Dot and if this shortage of everything ever ends some 800x.

Oh, and the other good news I can report is no Glock smiles on the brass after I shot them in my Gen 4, so my concerns about that being an issue are now resolved.

800-x is an underrated powder.
I started replacing my Blue Dot loads with it.
It makes a powerful 44 mag load without as much fireball as Blue Dot.
