This looks a lot more interesting than a Keltec Sub 2K.

ETA: Looks like they are supposed to be out around the first quarter of 2022. No idea on price though.

Better like chin welding with that one.

The fact that it is barely shorter than 21” is a definite downside. For a pack rifle they need to get the length down further.

Interesting. Price and quality of it will be interesting to see when it hits the streets. I like that its a rifle and not a braced pistol given potential issues with those down the road.

Appreciate the innovation in any case.

Fire it like a sub-gun at ranges for a sub-gun. Not really a competitor to a rifle shaped gun like the Ruger PC9, IMO.

What length is considered optimum for a pack rifle with a 16" barrel?

I can agree with that, but a PCC can do more than sub-gun range.

Well the Keltec Sub2000 folds to about 16.5” which easily fits in almost any backpack. At 21” there are next to no backpacks that will fit it, trust me I have a few “get home” options for storable firearms and they all are too long in their most compact setting to fit into even longer in length backpacks.

One has to get the length below 19” to have more options on backpacks.

This is coming from someone who doesn’t have a Sub2000 but it’s hard to refute the small package it folds into for storage.

I think the SUB 2000 with the suppressor is the best option. No cheek weld means it won't really be much more accurate than a hand gun, whereas a sub 2000 is good to 100 meters no problem.

Let me unfold this and point the barrel at me and everyone with in 180° I be this is pricy

Well, until you finish snapping it it's like an overunder shotgun and there's literally no chance of it going off... I don't mind if a guy sweeps my feet with his broken open overunder slung over his shoulder, and don't consider that a violation.

Same with the SUB-2000 or this gun, as long as the gun is mechanically inoperable until the action is locked it's 100% safe, safer than a shoulder holster anyways and I feel those are sufficiently safe too...

It looks like it can mount an optic on top, which is one major advantage over the Sub 2K. But other than that, I am not seeing any reason to ditch my Keltec.

I have an angled mount on mine. It doesn't lock shut but it still gets the same form factor, it's about 6mm "open" at the muzzle/stock instead of flush like normal but it works great.

The Sub 2000 with the integral suppressor is designed to side fold or like rotate fold or something so you can have a top mounted red dot and still fold it shut. That thing is EXTREMELY cool.

Looks nice and newish, but i kinda have doubts about it. I know, its diffrent worlds, but if i would feel neet to hide rifle/SMG in my backpack i would pick something what is just small by itself. And there is a lot SMGs what will fit in backpac. In case i just dont want take my long gun bag to shooting range i can disassemble most gun into two piices without much effort.
I know, 16 inch barrell can penetrate 3A armor and have better balistic. But if you worry about armory why dont use 5,7x28 or just tokarev (dont know why this round dont get more love) which can do the trick even from pistol barrel (tok not so reliably but still...)
I like inovations, but over here its kinda clancky design, not by executions, but by concept

The K-T S2K fits in a nondescript computer bag, which is a plus for invisibility. Doesn't sound like that one will.

Also, the K-T is in production and sold on a national level, it remains to be seen if that one will make it.

Damn!
I was just thinking of a getting a plastic folding 9mm to carry around in my back pack. Then assemble it in the woods, get leaves and dirt stuck in it.

What a useful gun!:uhoh:

I had a Kel Tek S 2000 and I really tried to like it but that thing isn't designed for a human. I don't know if a double jointed chimpanzee could shoot it comfortably, I know I couldn't. The Pack9 doesn't look any better. I think the designers of those firearms when asked about ergonomics, I believe they said "ergo who, never heard of him".

I dont have a Keltec, although I keep thinking about it every time I see a used one in my local shop. Then I come to my senses. :)

Ive had a couple of Keltec rifles and handguns, and as I said earlier, cool ideas, but generally poor execution.

The folding thing with the Sub 2K is cool, but theres really no way to mount the optic, other than to use a good lever mount and now you have more to fiddle with it.

This Pack9 thing looks like that can be done without too much issue, but the cheek weld thing is a negative. Maybe they will find a way to address that down the road.

Other than true FA guns, Im not really a big fan of pistol caliber carbines much anymore either. These days, not much point in them with the AR pistols around. Maybe this too will be addressed in later models, assuming they get that far along.

At least its something different and what looks to be a bit more robust than the Keltec.

I just took a look at the Keltec plus the Ruger takedown 9 mm. My interest level didn't rise a great deal but I did look at some reviews of each. That returned it to zero but I think both would be a better option than the Trailblazer. Of course you all know about opinions.
