I have my dad's sks which was "improved" by installing in a tapaco stock set, I was able to locate forarm and stock which matches the serial number of rifle and plan to reinstall.

Can anyone with more knowledge please list with pictures all the tradition accessories would have been? I.e. chest ammo packs and how many stripper clips went to each one etc.

There is a cleaning kit that should ride in the butt of the stock. Outside of that, I don't really know

It depends on which country. Like most combloc, country of manufacture or deployment mean the accesories can vary widely as well as vary over time.

I’m not an expert on SKS load outs, but are you looking to duplicate a historical setup or a more practical / modern setup?

If you are looking for a historical setup, things like country and time period are very important. For example, a setup for a Soviet soldier in 1946 is going to look a lot like the Mosin Nagant load out, where as a Chinese/Vietnamese setup from 1973 will be significantly different.

For a practical setup on a budget, I’d say it’s hard to beat a simple Chinese chest rig.

I think the basic load out was the chest bag.

Strippers and a cleaning kit. Not much else to it.

These are usually well made and work very well too. Only downside Ive seen with them is, if youre using the same strippers over and over, they tend to not hold the rounds well/tightly, and you lose them either in the pouches, or on the way to the gun. More often than not, you dont get the full 10 in.

Most of the ComBloc gear is simple, functional, and well made. If you dont want to tie the straps, all you need is a $2 buckle for the strap, and youre all set.

The slightly larger pocket on the end of the chest rack is for a bottle of lube. In addition, I would highly recommend a ruptured cartridge remover and a good sight adjustment tool. The best way to clean these things in my experience is pull-through deals like boresnakes and Otis cables.

A typical Norinco SKS came with a bayonet, steel cleaning rod kept in place by bayonet, steel cleaning kit in butt stock, green canvas ammo belt with shoulder straps, green plastic oil bottle, and a green canvas carry strap with spring shaped or leather attachment points. I don't recall it coming with stripper clips, but it may have.

This pic doesn't show the cleaning kit as it's in the butt stock. Also pictured are three items that did not come with the gun. Those items are the leather carry strap, 30 round magazine, and the rubber butt plate extension.

Some years ago I won a bid on EBay for an SKS fiberglass jungle stock.
When it arrived, it also included a chest pack with lube bottle, a canteen, an NCO's cap, a belt with red star buckle and a bunch of other small items.
If I ever get an actual Vietnamese rifle then I'll have a pretty neat display... .

My Chicom SKS came with an opaque white cleaning bottle, not green, in addition to everything pictured above, and an owner’s manual in Chinglish.
