I have the itch for another knife.
I already have
2 spyderco manix ll’s
1 benchmade barrage
1 benchmade 940 Osborn
1 Microtech Ultratech
1 Junglas
1 ESEE 6
They all get used and I regularly rotate my edc but I must admit the Ultratech is my fav. I’m looking for something a little different in the <$200 price range.
I’m thinking a small edc fixed blade with approximately 2.5-3” blade
What small edc fixed blade are you using?

It still feels good in your hand, I think that a kinda in between would be to wrap it with some para cord.

That way you get some cushioning from the metal edges but not to much from scales that might be to big for someone's hands.

When it comes to sheaths, I'm kinda divided on the subject. Leather will cause your knife to rust if you don't keep a light coat of oil on it. The same thing will happen to your brass if you keep loaded rounds in a belt for your holster.

Kydex is simple and kinda cheap, some how in the last couple of years, someone thought they (sheaths) should cost as much or more than leather.

I get that there's time involved in putting them together but when I watch a half hour YouTube video and you make a finished sheath... then put a $300 price tag on it?!

I still prefer leather but will buy a kydex sheath if it looks good with the knife. I'm just not paying that kind of money for plastic.

I like all of the Bradford Guardian knives. This is the smallest. I also have the 4 and 4.5.

Bradford Knives Guardian3 Fixed Blade Black/Blue G-10 (3.5" False Edge AEB-L SW) - Blade HQ

There are other handle color options.

You can use leather sheath that comes with it or go with kydex

I got one a few months ago, but with the contoured handle that feels much better in the hand. The kydex sheath is very nice also.

I also have a couple blades from Battle Horse Knives that I like a lot:
Battle Horse Knives Frontier First Natural | SMKW
Battle Horse Birch River Black AEB-L Blade Micarta Handle | SMKW

I decided to order the stainless Izula and a set of black G10 scales for it. Can’t wait to get it, and maybe it’ll give my Ultratech a break lol.

20210923_125923.jpg I don't have as many knives as I used to
since I started paring down some time ago.
I also don't have as many small fixed
blade knives as i did because I can do as
good a job or better with a longer blade
for what I do
These are probably the "best " of the
smaller fixed blades I have left
I'm not sure if either could still be bought new. I've had these for about 25 years.
The Murr has a 1995 date, and I would
guess the Spyderco is probably about
as old. Spyderco is still in business of
course, but I don't know if they still offer
a Moran. I have no idea if Mr. Murr is
still making and selling.
I can say for sure that the price is
most likely much higher for either one
than it was when these came home

I happened to pick up an "Izula" type knife at a truck stop and for the price it put up with salt water wading the surf on the Gulf coast much better than I expected. The shape and grind followed the original which proved it's utility is well rounded.

No, I wasn't going to wander around chest deep with a $100 knife in the back pocket of my swim trunks. Not wearing the P365 in the surf either. This was painted orange with a factory look sheath right down to the 3D print pattern. Kept an edge and what little rust it got wore off using it.

I realize truck stop knives may not be all that, but a few do come thru and this was a opportunity to try the design for less than $12. Being Mr Cheap and on vacation, it's possible others might understand the attraction.

I have an ESEE Laser Strike, that's a bit much hanging on a set of purple trunks with white flowers. A bit too boogaloo.

This one isn’t my EDC because I don’t have the hart to use it but it feels great in the hand and is a stout little knife. It’s a Bark River Huntsman and I think it’s been disconnected but I’m sure their out there. But after the reply’s I think I need to order a ESEE Uzuka ii soon. 862E8A92-D53D-4B4D-AAFC-49E881A5A3E7.jpeg

Wow that was quick. Ordered my Izula Thursday and FedEx has it out for delivery today. Hopefully I’ll have pics to post this evening when I get home. SMKW doesn’t play when it comes to their free shipping lol

i think youd be well served by the 310 Forge Mini Scalper, horizontal carry sheath, 1075 HC Steel, made in Texas and Mike Kahil the smith, is an upstanding man. Tell him Robert sent you. I use it for everything, cutting steaks, making sandwhiches, gutting bass and skinning squirrels. 20210919_193403.jpg

Fits right in with my daily commute gear
The Junglas is for cutting my Chick-fil-A sandwiches in half lol.
No I do not ride with all that on my seat….or do I?
