I had a friend purchase an FN Browning 1922 the other day and complained about how hard he had to grip the grip safety in order to fire the gun. I had that issue a long time ago and an old Gun Smith told me to remove the grip safety pin and grip safety and the flat spring beneath it. He said to chuck the spring up in a vise right below the two little humps in the spring and bend it backwards a little bit. Put the pistol back together and try it out. If needed bend the spring a little more until you have an easy firing pistol with the grip safety still functional. He said since you are putting pressure on this spring with your grip that it wouldn't change what the two tines do in the pistol. I did that to mine and it works great now. My friend tried it and his now works really good. This modification does not harm the action of the pistol at all and it makes this fine old pistol a lot easier to shoot. And my feelings and blessings go out to Bikerdoc's family.
