question how does cfe pistol due with coated bullets I will be using 9MM 124gr coated ,
starting to see small amounts of supply's on the shelf but they don't last long so when I seen cfe pistol I garbed
2 pounds
just loading for target paper punching practice ,

Should be no issues. Ive run Hitek coated over 1500 FPS with CFE-P. Its a great powder.

I've used it with ACME 125gr coated bullets. No issues. It may just get a tad smokey. I normally load them up to ~1000 fps. No higher. I have been told that if you load them towards the high end of the spectrum (closer to max), they aren't as smokey, but I typically don't reload 9mm any faster than 1200.

I just ran 100 I cast from a Lee mold and coated with Eastwood Ford blue using CFE-P. I'll have to look at my notes for the powder charge, but they ran great. My alloy is a little soft, so my bullets average about 130 grain. Not a huge fan of the bullet profile, have to seat a little deeper than I like, but all in all, not bad. Ok, from my notes, Lee 356-125-2r mold, 130g projectile, Eastwood Light Ford Blue, COAL 1.025, 4.7g CFE-P, ave velocity 1105fps from a CZ75. Ran pretty clean, and had a 2" group at 12yds offhand. Not my most accurate load, but I think that has more to do with the bullet, but as far as CFE-P and powder coat, its good to go

The only notes I have for coated bullets and CFE-P is 147 gr. Missouri bullet with 3.8 gr. of CFE-P. Seated at 1.060", I got an average of 942 fps. Nice soft shooter. I did a load with 3.9 gr, but the 3.8 gr. was more accurate to me.
And a 200 gr. FN from Missouri, that I worked up to 7.0 gr. of CFE-P, seated at 1.190", for an average of 925 fps. some of the lessor loads had sooty cases.

I appreciate the comments, To me trying a new to me powder and working up a new loads once in awhile scratches that itch
during this shortage ,
In sandal capacity cartridges that powder is really good. Load workup is minimal on my experience.
