I am getting ready to purchase a GHM-9. Is there any way to tell the difference between a gen1 and gen2 based on physical appearance? If I buy second hand, I want to ensure that I can verify that it is a gen2.

Does anyone have any experience with the Lingle Industries scorpion magazine GHM-9 lower? Is it reliable, well-finished, etc? It’s about the same price as a B&T Glock mag lower, but I like the idea and look of scorpion mags.

Hey Giggity how did you decide on the B&T? I have my eyes on the Century Ap5.

I'm interested to see what people think about this firearm. I have no experience with it. I have been really interested in PCC's lately.

Also the OP mentioned this firearm taking scorpion mags. I have the PSA 9mm AR pistol that takes scorpion mags.

I am going with the GHM-9 because it seems to get consistently good reviews from both major YouTube reviewers and average users alike. I also like that it’s Swiss-made, which is often associated with high tolerances and quality. I can also get it for a good price right now (about $1360 including any taxes/fees).

I would love an MP-5 clone. I am still vainly hoping that corona will subside and PSA will finally deliver on a more affordable MP-5 clone. I like the CZ Scorpion, but the B&T has a better trigger. The Stribog seems to get mixed reviews, although it seems with the advent of their curved mags that it’s pretty favorable.

Overall, for me, the GHM-9 seems to deliver the best blend of reliability, high tolerances, good trigger, simplicity, and value. And the fact that you can purchase different lowers for compatibility with different mags makes it even more versatile and appealing.

Looks like a really good firearm! I was not familiar with it before your post. You must have a line on one because the cheapest I saw one new was over $1400 and every thing else is extra like lowers that take different mags and the collapsible brace I saw was over $400. So if you buy and then customize it with a few things the price seems to go up quite a bit.

One thing I would be concerned about being blow back operated is does the buffer actually reduce the recoil significantly. Also the video I saw said it had a reciprocating charging handle (negative for me).

Let us know how it shoots if you get it.

I emailed B&T over the weekend to see if there was a way to determine whether a GHM-9 is a gen1 or gen2. B&T replied and explained that serial numbers indicate generations. Anything with a serial number prefix of US 19 or higher is a gen2.
