I have a few questions. I've had 3 springers in the last 3 decades and just learned of the Beeman R7. I think my little wife would enjoy the youthful features and I would like the build quality and quite backyard operation.

1) Who do I buy it from? I'm seeing Pyramyd and Air Gun Depot for $400.
2) Should I consider the Mantis scoped combo for $450?
3) Does everyone have Heck with scopes? I love open sights but may have to go scoped in future.
4) Buy a tuned gun from ...? I'm not really a trigger snob and I don't like super light triggers.

Thanks, Mike

I passed on an R7 once because the previous owner had taken off the rear sight to make room for a scope, traded it in on something sales and then the storekeeper had robbed the scope off of it. My mistake, it was just what I needed in an air rifle.

1-Keep in mind the Beeman R7 is simply a Weihrauch HW30S with a slightly different stock and a gold trigger. You may be able to source the HW30s cheaper.
2-I, personally, only tune a gun if it needs it and that is RARE for me.
3-The Rekord trigger on these guns is amazing and easily user adjustable.
4-I have 3 HW30s. 1 scoped and two set up with aperture sights. They shoot lights out either way.
5-Make sure you shoot a bit and find the pellets they like. Even gun to gun there can be variations.
6-I cannot imagine you will be disappointed in an R7/HW30s of any flavor barring a need to shoot large animals or super long range. They are sublime little target rifles.

For a good source for an HW30 check out Krales in the Netherlands. Even after the shipping costs you will come out way ahead of any US source. And you will be amazed at how quickly it gets here. I received mine in 3 days.

I got my wife the Crosman 1077 .177 Air Rifle, and she loves it..It's is co2 12shoot and we have had no trouble out of this Rifle going on 4 years..We are retired and we shoot some times 2&3 times a week.. The newer 1077 Freestyle has about 700 fps..Midway USA has the crosman 1077 Freestyle on sale 91.00 the co2 last about 48 shots..the Target is 25 yards..

?? Why the second post of a Daisy 120??

Pics make posts better! It's my only offering in an airgun but I'm proud of it. Made in Spain from the 80's I think. I got it from an estate sale a couple years ago along with some How To Grow Tomatoes Books.

Thanks for all the replies. I checked out the Kales sight but they were out of stock. Then I found a good deal at AOA and they were good to talk to.

^^^ Nice! I wanted the laminated stock / not available. I was gonna get the deluxe with checkering but out of stock. Ordered the standard brown wood and I can hardly wait!

Got My HW30 today and shot it for 3 1/2 hrs. I wasn't ready to stop but I knew it would take a little while to put my toys up. I think it has a new style stock and I'm liking it real well. I think mine is the deluxe stock but I'm not sure. The box says "Deluxe" but it was scratched out with ink pen and written in "Standard". Works for me because I like it.

I waited a long time to get a R7... traded into one then found anouther at auction with the old Beeman SS3 scope... I geve one of the R7's to a bud who did not have a proper airgun and was frustrated with a cheaper one he had acquired not knowing any better... his only comment was its not as fun NOT missing the chipmunks he shoots at :p And like the lil gun even though the old school hw50/55 seem to be my absolute favorites but that lil R& is great in the basement n back yard for sure!

I bought a $100 Hawke 4X scope for my HW30 but it went crazy so I sent it back. Now I have a $200 Hawke 2-7X32. I probably have 200 rounds through this scope and it seems fine.

Thanks! It shoots great. I'll eventually post a target. I may have a pic already. I have a squeeze bag on the side of my truck bed, backed into the carport, aiming through the breezeway. I can shoot mid-yard target 20-30 yards. Steel, rubber and paper inside my shop door at 45 yards. lately i've been shooting 60 yards to water bottles at back fence with a drum lid behind bottles. I've been hitting the water bottle label pretty much first shot. We had 20mph winds the other day, so for lucky fun I held 2 water bottles right and hit the green ribbon on the Ozarka water bottle label. Of course the 8.64 H&N are great but everything that fits in my chamber is great, Excite Hammer, Crosman 7.4 & 7.9 . The heavy black Gamo and the pointed Daisy were too tight to push in chamber.

I love my HW30! It is the perfect backyard plinking airgun. I’ve had mine for 5 years and legit shoot at least 30,000 H&N Excite II pellets a year. I buy them by the case from pyramid air. 2 years ago I finally broke the original spring and replaced it with a maccarri spring. No spring press required, just about 20 minutes of time and a couple easy hand tools. Back in action!
The beauty of the HW30 is really in it’s simplicity. Great trigger, easy to cock, shoots well, and isn’t particularly hold sensitive. Literally you will get bored with shooting way before you tire out from cocking the gun. Out to 25 yards it shoots flat, after that add some Kentucky windage. I have a little Hawke 2-7 scope that fits the little airgun perfectly.

I was pretty proud of these as I had a horrible rest and tiny stool from 20 yards. Sorry for only 3-shot groups.

Awesome. Those destroyers never shot worth a darn for me in anything. I have a bunch I use for my working on a gun need to shoot a couple shots pellets.
