Love those Brownings

Only 2 JMB handguns I have these days, though I do have a couple of his shotguns too. Might be pickin up a minty ring hammer FEG soon, fingers crossed!

I'm a long time fan of the Hi Power. I bought my first Hi Power about '66 or '67, and owned several more along the way. Carried a Hi Power quite a bit, and did the 250 class at Gunsite years ago with a Hi Power. Still have three; a GP, T-Series and MK III.

I’m down to two. I let my brother talk me out of my best one; a 35 year old with ivories.

I have never had the pleasure of even holding one of those, but I have become interested in the last few years and may see if I can at least find one locally to shoot and convince myself I need one. I do have and thoroughly enjoy the 1911, and mainly shoot 9mm, so.....

Here's one of mine...a "Practical" in 9mm...Hogue grips...magazine safety removed...it's a joy to carry and shoot. Rod

My 1994 Mk III. I got lucky in that it has a nice, crisp trigger. There's something about the feel in hand of the Hi Power that I like, and even the sound when racking the slide. It's not as ergonomically perfect for me as the CZs, nor can I shoot it as well (it's just not as accurate), but it's got soul.

I don't have a Hi Power.....yet.
But I have this sweet BDA .380

Here’s my $300 Browning. It wasn’t very pretty when I got it. Did some horse trading to have it reblued. The extra grips are an original set that I trimmed up.

Here's my Israeli surplus Hi-Power, not pretty but accurate and has never had a malfunction. Very comfortable to shoot with the rubber grips.

I bought two in the mid ‘80s, the last year they were made and assembled In Belgium.
I shot one and kept the other just as it came from the factory.

Here's my unfired 1968 tangent-sight T-series, all Ren Waxed up. I have a handful of other BHPs, but none with good photos yet. One of these days...

If I'm going to shoot one, I'll usually grab my dad's old 1979 Hi-Power, which he gave me and which was the first centerfire handgun I ever shot. I don't really think much of stock BHPs as shooters, though, and the ones I do shoot don't see much range time. I eventually plan to work with Yost and maybe whoever another top BHP 'smith happens to be at that time -- unless I can find a Jim Garthwaite (RIP) BHP that is close to what I would have ordered -- so that I can have a couple that I really enjoy shooting, but that's a ways down my lengthy priority list at the moment.

Intrigued by this Browning can you tell me more about them?

Anecdotal story. My dad did the same thing and bought a new Hi Power back in the early 60’s and left it in a pristine unfired condition. 20 years later we had our house broken into and it was stolen.
