I have an old Gamo Olympic-style break-action pistol with wooden handles and I do not know the SKU or have an instruction manual. Nor can I post photos. My question is this: How many times do I typically pump this .177 pistol for target shooting? Is once enough? Is there a maximum number of pumps. Sorry for the lack of information or no photo, but I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Problem is I don't have a model number and that particular air pistol is not made anymore. I've sent serial number to Gamo hoping something can spinoff from that.

Post a few pics. Most "break actions" are springers, and will only take one "pump" to cock the spring.

Single-pump pneumatic. Just about any match/target airgun will be a single-stroke in order to provide good velocity consistency.

Also, generally speaking single-pump pneumatics are set up so that pumping them more than once has no effect.

Here's some more information about your pistol.

Many thanks JohnKSa. The three report are most helpful.

tallpaul, I was told the air gun was Olympic-style (not Olympic) when I bought it and did not know that much about it. I do not know that much about air guns, but I agree the Gamo Compact is not an Olympic pistol
