Heard rumors the other day, but it looks like Palmetto State Armory did indeed introduce their own 5.7x28 pistol at SHOT:

Copied from the TFB article:

5.7 ROCK FAST FACTS
  • Caliber: 5.7x28mm
  • MSRP: $549 Optics Ready, $499 standard
  • Release Date: Less than 60 days
  • Capacity: 23-round 5.7 magazine
  • Other Features:
    • Optics ready version comes with a threaded barrel
I've sort of been interested in 5.7 before, but the higher pricing of the pistols kept my curiosity at bay. At $550 with optics cut, threaded barrel and a 23 rd mag I might actually have to get one if reliability and quality seem to be decent.

OK! now that’s a cool news for the 5.7 ammo situation! love it

I wish those magazines fit either FN or Ruger (sticking out a little), but I'm not very hopeful.

Yeah, if we can start getting ammo, for less than 150$ a box, that will be nice, too.

Where are you paying $150 a box? It's available all over Ammoseek for less than a third of that.

I’m handloading 5.7x28 ammo. I rather buy it at $35 a box because it’s a tiny round.

Is it the poly coating that makes relating it a pain? Seems like otherwise it would run through a progressive like 5.56 or 9mm.

it’s the size of the brass and that makes it very difficult. Then small margins for mistakes in your charge. Very small seating depth, a auto bullet feed would be helpful. The poly coating can be removed with rubbing alcohol, or at lease remove the stickiness

I recently got rid , for $50 above what I paid for it a year ago, My Ruger 5.7 pistol . I was waaaay under whelmed with the difference between 5.7x28 and .22MRF in a pistol , at least . . That Rock Pistol has a long enough mag length for 7.62x25mm Tok rounds and I would buy such in a heart beat especially with a faster twist to handle heavy subsonic loads! I am writing to PSA about it, seems a pretty easy thing to do IMHO. Would you rather have a suppressed .22 5.7 which won't function (I tried with 65 grain bullets stuffed in) or a suppressed .30 with 160 grain subsonics ? PPU Hollow point 7.62 TOK are currently running $20-$30 a box and available. They would be 1500+ fps in the Rock pistol length barrel , the military armor piercing ones even faster , much better than the 5.7 IMHO and testing !
