20220128_110050.jpg It was a balmy +5 yesterday when I got to the range but I just had to shoot with the RDS for the first time. First 5 rounds were over a foot high. Made a quarter revolution adjustment and got it on the paper with this group. At ten yards it's not exactly earth shattering but it's probably as good as I've ever done. Cold and recoil plus a nasty blood blister on my pinky from catching it between the magazine base plate and the frame caused my shooting to deteriorate from here but at least the sight is zeroed and I find I really like the whole RDS concept. It was super simple to clean the plate rack with this thing mounted on my pistol. There are likely more of these in my future

Glad you had a positive experience. I did not. The lens on the first Romeo Zero popped out on the third shot through the SIG 365XL. So I replaced it with another Romeo Zero, but it could not get it to zero. Best I could do on elevation at 25 yards still put rounds in the rafters. So, I went back to iron sights where I probably should have been from the beginning.

I am guessing my experiences were a fluke.

I do believe RD sights are the future of handguns, including those carried for self-defense. Enjoy yours!

The non-click adjustments of the Romeo Zero are by far its worst feature. You can damage the site if you adjust too far. I was lucky, only minor adjustment needed with it on my Hellcat and so far its held up very well.

Try an RMR next time. Spendy, but they work and are very tough.

Agreed, but they are a whole lot larger. I've carried my S&W Shield 40 with an RMR for a lot of years, but it is just too big for my Hellcat.

I'm still a bit leery of depending on batteries.

RMR on Shield40:

The Hellcat package is significantly smaller, a bit lighter, and has 12 rounds vs. 7, but its 9mm vs. .40S&W, a trade off I'm happy with in today's environment as with two spare mags I can have 42 rounds of 9mm vs. 23 in the .40
