Or maybe sold at a gun buyback program. I was at the range Friday, shooting it, getting the normal FTE that it gets. And when I went to fire the parts just flew all over the place. Amazingly I was able to find all the parts. The gun was a piece of crap and I had hopes I could salvage it, but not now. No way would I ever fire that gun again. So I don't want to sell it to anyone, I couldn't knowing what just happened with me. Maybe I could sell it for parts, don't know. It did have a nice leather holster, not sure what other type of gun it would fit though, and I do have three magazines for it. Thoughts on what I should do with it and the accessories? I'd have no problem selling the holster or magazines.

Post it for sale as a parts kit without the frame in our classified section.

I have been told that Jimenez has very good customer service. I would call them. Maybe they’ll replace it. Couldn’t hurt to try.

Yeah, Jimenez is pretty much done for as a company and I doubt any iteration of it will be allowed to come back. OP, might be better off going with a Phoenix to replace the Jimenez. Far better build quality and quite accurate thanks to the trigger and its exposed hammer giving a good, solid whack on a rim.

Also, good luck finding a gun buyback anywhere in Florida outside of Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. The one benefit to Blue cities and states for a gun owner are those gun buybacks as they're great places to get good cash for broken guns and they always seem to pay more for pistols.

IIRC Jimenez was sued out of business, then came back and was sued out of business a second time. Maybe keep it as an oddity.

I had the Jennings version of that 25-ish years ago. I don't imagine it's gotten any better.

Part it out. IMHO&YMMV,

The ATF has guidelines on how to destroy a frame to render it legally no longer a "firearm". At that point, you can just toss it in the garbage, and sell off the remaining parts.

I would assemble it as well as possible, then call your police department and have them come and get it.

That's what was done with a Raven Arms 25acp that I didn't want.

By the way, the officer that showed up to collect it was pleased that there was a chamber flag in it.

The wife and i have a JA 22. They are our bedside guns. And she carriers hers too.She named it too. Inkie she calles it. Remington golden bullets work well in them. She also has a 9mm and i have the 380. It's also a home defence gun. Cheap guns you don't mind if they are tied up in court. I lost the mag release spring in her 9mm. The fellow at Jemineze sent me one free of charge. And gave detailed instructions how to put it in. When i read about his black market dealings i was kinda shocked. He seamed like a real nice person.

If you have a good example of a JA.22. Don’t mess with it, grease it, feed it’s favorite ammo. I had a JA22 that would slam fire, SO Dangerous, that I sent it back to them! I hope they destroyed in a pit of lava

I have three, a .22lr, .25ACP and .380ACP hanging on the wall in a red velvet lined display box as thief bait.
Heh, I should do the same with my H&R collection, problem is I actually am fond of those revolvers.

Back 30 years ago I had a Jennings j22 that was awesome, reliable and accurate too. Loved that gun but a friend got a job driving a truck and made a ridiculous offer for it and I sold it. I have regretted that since, it was probably one of 10 they made that actually worked right. I also around that time had a bryco 380 that worked well. I was warned off of Jimenez before I could find out for myself and got an accu-tec 380 double stack that was awesome until it was stolen. Davis was iffy back then too, it either worked or didn’t.

$100 gift card is the going rate for handguns. Just make sure the slide works and you’re in business
........... I second the getting a gift card motion. Gun buy backs are notoriously unfussy. They just want them off the streets; even the junk ones. Worked in a chemical waste incinerator in the mid 1990's and we did a few "gun burns" annually for local police depts. Mostly stuff from gun buy backs and I had a lot of conversations with the officers who brought them in and had to stand around and personally witness those fiber drums full of guns enter the incinerator. I was unable to see them due to being sealed up in a drum but heard a lot of stories about the atrocious condition some of them were in and how it was amazing how much money was being spent for such junk. Most of them didn't even work, so they got turned in to a gun buy back.... Working guns were worth more on the street than what the buy back folks were paying.

take the Gun Buy back money and buy a better gun! win win!

My brother had one at about the same timeframe... it was a decent pistol for what it was. Being totally honest, that pistol is the only pistol I've ever drawn to defend myself, and the mere appearance of it sent the punk kids in the Camaro in the other direction. True story.
