Taurus 679 22lr?

I'm guessing that the crickets I'm hearing here and the fact that I can't find any mention of this model online means I was given a bad model number.
Sorry guys, I will recheck on that tomorrow.

Never heard of a Taurus 679.

Not too interested in Taurus firearms with the exception of the 92/96 series though.

Currently it appears Taurus offer the 942 .22LR revolver. I have zero experience with Taurus, but if I found that 942 3” in a store at that MSRP, or less, I would be willing to give it a go.

I have an older 94 that is a decent gun and the new 942 snub, also a decent gun.
The one in question is unlike either of those.
Still similar in size to a J frame but with a 4 inch full lug barrel. It's new enough to have the internal lock in the back of the hammer.
I'm going to call today and verify the model number.
I've really been wanting a 4 inch S&W 617, but they sure don't give them away.

I am coming up empty on a search for a Taurus Model 679 22lr. I found a Model 669 and 689 , both in 357 Magnum.

Taurus lists a 4 inch version and 6.5 inc version of the 992 Tracker. All come with a 22lr and 22M cylinder.

Taurus currently lists the Model 942 snub nose and the 992 Tracker in 22lr on their website. I have a 942 and have been quite happy with it. It is a perfect match for my 856 38 Spec.

My 94, purchased new in 2014, is surprisingly on target as it came out of the box. But, spent cases stick fiercely in the chambers and are difficult to remove. I'm guessing the chamber diameters might be a bit large, allowing them to swell into place. I never sent it in because I didn't want to forget I owned it while it was away.
