Instead of expensive stainless media, I wonder how very small rocks would do as wet tumbling media? I have access to an unlimited supply of what we call coverstone, clean tiny rocks we chip seal (seal coat) roads with.
The stainless pins aren't that expensive, if you don't buy the Franklin arsenal brand ones. Buy in bulk it's about $8 per pound and I don't think they ever really wear out. I have 20lb.

Stainless pins can also be moved and cleaned up easily with a transfer magnet.

We have small rocks covering some of the bays at our range. These small rocks get inside some of the brass & does help clean but too many of them they will get stuck by locking into each other. Then you will have to pick them out or toss the brass. So using rocks works but there is a bad side to it.
