Engraved S&W 686

I really like it. I'd like to carry one like it.

That is really something. Normally I really don’t care for most engraved guns, but I rather like this one. I wouldn’t buy it but I do like it.

I definitely appreciate the artistic craftsmanship of such work.
However, it's not my cup of tea.
A little bit of scroll work wouldn't bother me, but this particular piece is a bit too much.

I don't go for engravings, but I love this one.

Well, it’s not a shooter but it is a looker.

Too bad the lock couldn’t have been engraved off.

I think it looks quite cool. Some engravings are too ornate but with this one, while also way over top, has a modern look to it IMHO.

Looks great but as previously posted, it's a shame that work wasn't on a no-lock model.

I like it, it's different. I would carry it for sure.

I'd carry it if I owned it. Wouldn't pay extra for it, and if given the choice I'd rather have one without the engraving.

Looks cool, Would be nice to know who did the engraving, and what they used to create the black finish.

Interesting from an artistic point of view, not something I would personally want. The execution was very well done though.

The side of the trigger was engraved, can't say I recall seeing that before.

I don't get on well with the black and white balance. Not to mention that it was an ugly gun to start with.

Eh, it’s no Gun Re-Blu job but it’s ok. I don’t like the 7x.

Not a fan of engraving, but that is well done.

I appreciate the skill, a bit of engraving can add some aesthetic appeal, they should have stopped with the frame. The barrel engraving ruins the overall look.

It looks nice, but a bit busy for my taste.

Interesting that the people who normally don't like engraving do like this one. I do like engraving, but this one leaves me a bit cold. It's too industrial, or carbon fiber-y, or something - but I can see why some folks would like it.

I will say that I really don't like the grips put out by S&W these days - and I note that replacement grips are unlikely to align with the engraved border. Although I suppose that if you can afford the gun, you can afford to send it to a custom grip maker!

Would be a tough call. For the cost of that one, I wouldn't be shooting it.
