Yes, those original Federal loads were very hot. Mine stuck in my chambers and also a good many of them split on their first firing.
The ones that didn't split aren't splitting at all with my loads.
My hot load is 14gr of Lill Gun with a 100 gr XTP, which is maximum load. It doesn't come close to the original Federal loads that I bought with the gun back when they first came out.
Those loads made me change grips 3 times on mine.

I responded to your other thread about swapping 9mm for .327 FM brass. PM me your address and I’ll send some new Federal brass in your direction for free. Might also send some new Starline. Need to see what I have. Keep the 9mm brass.

What do you have on hand for bullets?

I like the new SP101s with long barrels and adjustable sights.

I also always liked .32 H&R mag as an under rated self defense round for people that are recoil shy or infirm. .327 mag just increases the versatlity!

My wife has a .32 mag Charter Arms Lavender Lady and I still have a old NEF .32 mag revolver that I shot so much it's worn until the cylinder timing is off.

Good stuff!!

Those pics were just stock pics of the same models as I have. Here is my custom finished SP101 3" .357.

Hard matte chrome with an XS tritium front sight. It's close to 25 years old now lol.

I was smart enough to buy nearly 400 rounds of premium H&R mag ammo right after we bought the wife's Charter Arms. Since you can't replace the fixed sights I gave her Crimson Trace grips as a gift. She sighted in and only shoots sparingly from her ammo stock. I have lots of reloading and casting equipment in storage so someday it will be easier to feed!

I think the grips are Pachmyer.
Generally, I like Pachmayr grips for my revolvers. My main choice are Presentation grip Models but with those becoming less avaliable, I've settled on other models.

But, I have found the Ruger grips for their revolvers that are mostly rubber with wood or plastic inset panels are very nice. I've settled on them for the Ruger GP100 and SP101 revolvers that I have purchased in recent years.

I was always intrigued by the Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine. So when the .327 FM was released I was really interested in it. Took a good while to finally pick up a GP100. Shortly after that I found a 3.2 inch SP with adjustable rear sight and then it was kind of on like Donkey Kong with .32 cal.

Picked up all 3 barrel length Single Sevens on the same day. Then a couple of Single Sixes in .32 H&R, then came a Single seven bird head and finally a Henry Rifle.

Easy and economical to reload with mild to wild potential. The REALLY hot loads track out to one hundred yards like lasers. Very accurate. Currently I’m using 85 to 130 grain bullets with about 5 different powders all working well.

In the Henry I’ve hit 2,000 FPS and the cases just fall out like they were greased.
