For most of us long-time handgunners, we get a bit jaded about new grips, even though we'll typically be the first in line to buy the latest offerings. Often, we adopt new grips simply because they look better to us, occasionally, because they feel better. VZ was a major innovator, and G10 took the market by storm, for sure.

A member here, a while back, had posted a pic of one of his CZ-75s sporting some grips I'd not seen before -- Lok Grips - and I was curious, so I ordered some for a CZ-75 Compact.

I ordered the "thin grips" in "dark red/black" and they came with o-rings and torx screws (yeah, I hate the Phillips-head screws that are OEM on most CZs).

Holy cow, what a difference. The CZ wood stocks were much prettier than the original plastic panel, but they were thicker and increased trigger reach, so frankly, weren't used. But the Lok thin grips: perfection! I'll carry this pistol a lot more now, as the ergonomics are splendid and it points so well now (not that it didn't before).

Anyway, if you're in doubt, order some. They're less expensive than the VZ offerings, look fantastic, have the appearance of nice wood, but just feel great in the hand.

Same. I have XXL hands. There are some handguns I can't shoot effectively with the wrong grips.

That pistol is beautiful with those grips, btw. :)

On the compacts, I kinda prefer the oem rubber grips which have a nice palm swell.
The dark red black is my favorite combo, probably 6 pistols sport that color, as you say has a nice faux wood look.
Am hoping LOK extends their brass offerings into the compacts and 97.

Very nice. You got me lookin' at the LOK website now.

Same here!

Kind of like the Thin Brass with G10 inserts grips ! Pretty classy and stylish lookin'!

I had LOK grips on my PCR. They were great! Sold the gun and kept the grips for some reason. Shoulda let them go with the gun but the new buyer didn't want them.

I like the look. Very cocobolo.
They do look like cocobolo. I put different grips on most of the guns I shoot a lot, not only to doll them up a bit or make the gun more comfortable, but to save the originals from wear. The G10's are nice, and have some cool geometric patterns, but I still prefer wood over anything else, and laminated is fine, like the Altamont grips are.

I wish I could warm up to a CZ, but the trigger reach is just too long for me. Those rosewood stocks are striking.

Ways to fix this.
The OPs gun and likely the others you tried, had the recurve trigger shoe. Me personally I despise it.
The cheapest route is replace it with the 85 combat trigger shoe. It's flatter and sits back slightly farther.
CGW and CZ custom both sell a 85C trigger shoe.
Armory craft and Eemann tech both sell a flatter trigger yet, no personal usage yet.

The best route is call up CGW and get their reach reduction kit. It includes the 85C trigger shoe and a new disconnecter.

CZ Custom used to offer some special THIN wood grips. Their Cocobolo half-checkered version is shown below on my 85 Combat. They are super nice, but for actual shooting I find the factory rubber grips to suit me better.

Lots of good options you posted there! All CZs are made even more excellent with CGW parts added. :)

Another option is the Single Action Only trigger. Below is the 85 Combat with several CGW parts including the SAO trigger and pre-B Short Reset (the latter is a drop-in CZ part that fits the 85 Combat, but CGW makes one for the B models). The trigger operates fore-and-aft within the thickness of the trigger at the mid-point. It also has an extremely nice 1911-quality trigger pull (to achieve that type of trigger pull requires more parts than just the SAO trigger). To my hand, this gun has a noticeably better trigger than a Tactical Sport.

Posted on another thread a few days ago, so sorry if this pic is a duplicate. Picked up a used PCR last weekend that came with aftermarket grips I wasn't too keen on. Found these aluminum grips online. Been curious about aluminum for some time, so snatched them up.
